I've the staff version of that wand, mine works on recharging only after last use is used, and then take 3 days. Curious on that one there

This one also recharges only after the last is used, and does take 3 days to fill. But you don't need to fill it - you can stop it mid path and drain the seven or eight charges remaining to start it over again.
