I'd like to have a thread detailing which items are good to buy off the shelf. Nilandia's lists aren't up yet, but even then, it will be useful to have the "must buys" all in one place. I will add locations and descriptions of items when I get the information.

1. Voln tier 1 armor.
2. Fusion Wepons/Armor
3. Infusable high end scrolls Ex: 60 use Bavery scrolls
4. New-style gold ring holders.
5. Idols!!!! (j/k These are no longer available off the shelf and will likely be nerfed)

.... Keep them coming!

I definitely missed this: what's the deal with the new gold ring holders?

Jeebus, 60 use scrolls? That's worth speccing into arcane symbols for.

The difference is completely cosmetic, I think. There about 12 different types of messaging available. There is NOT a spelled out sign indicating what messaging each has, but you can go off the item's description to guess what it does. Ledirth(sp) was doing conversions of the old-style to the new ones during the weekend. Just a cool little item to get if you're into that type of thing.

Yep. 112k I think? 6 instances of the spell, all with 10 charges. Infusable with a BIG value. Great items.

My understanding is they haven't, but you can't buy any more for the moment.

I didn't see any, but i'll keep a look out. I imagine you don't use MIU for bolts (IE wands?)

Nice as in capacity or scripting?

There are some pretty well scripted stuff off the shelf, and in one of the shops with an outfit that plays together, there is a medium amount Over-the-front slot container that's scripted. Not sure if that is unusual.

Only when I'm desperate. Fire spirit rods are pretty sweet to fall back on.

What are the idols?

The idols were an off-the-shelf self-recharging item that provided a lot of great spells (Melgorehn's Aura 913 among them). They had some element of risk in terms of using them when they aren't recharged (as in they would cause you damage), but were available in unlimited quantities. This means that if you bought enough of them, you could essentially always use the spell provided with 0 risk....forever. They had a varying recharge rate of 8-12? hours depending upon the spell they provide.

Basically, unlimited self-rechargers 100-300k a pop. GMs closed the shop down, but not before players bought hundreds ..possibly thousands of them collectively.

The incident is jokingly referred to as Idolgate.

I think Wyrom said 162 million spent - quick voodoo math = 1,080 idols sold.

I saw a shop selling all VLA for like 25k.

very telling, at most you had 100 people buying them for only a short period of time.

that said, if anyone is willing to part with one, let me know please.

Yep, that's about right. I bought about a dozen for myself and friends, fully knowing that it was really too good to be true. I expect a good old fashioned nerfing.

Two quick questions:
1) Is the fusion orbifying guy there?
2) Is Nilanda's site up with an item list?

I purchased a harness to put items I was picking up for someone in, I handed them the harness, they took their stuff, handed it back to me and I didn't think anything more of it.

The harness is actually really cool. It is worn over the front and holds a medium amount and when you analyze it, it says it is part of the adventurer collection or something similar to that. I guess the more items from the collection you are wearing, the scripts change. I got it unlocked yesterday at four winds unlocking. It was in Treysen's trapping and there is one mannequin for each of the professions.

It's not a unique item, or anything like the statues but it is a nice medium container with cool scripts if you are looking for a container that is worn in a different location.

Sounds pretty cool to me and I forgot about FWI unlocking. Another benefit of attending the Lite event I never thought about...utilising the external unlocking services..

I've try to limit the scripted items I get to things that make sense to bremerial as a character. But I still get seduced occasionally by great items with cool scripts, even if the item makes no sense for Bremerial. The amount of storylines I've developed to justify their use would make you chuckle.

Anyway, to keep on track with the theme of this thread, I've gone mad with the ales, mead etc with spells. I don't know if they are cost effective but I certainly like the variety and ease of use. At last, something practical to spend my cash on!

If your list isn't too long and you know what you want, I'll get it for you. No payment required. It's like 10 mins max out of my life. Don't need paying for item pickups. Just contact me privately, let me know what you want, hand me the cash and hey presto.

I am reasonably trust worthy... Unless I've been drinking ale.. Wait.. That's all the time. Haha.

Seriously, yell if ye need something.

Did anybody chance to buy this:

a slender rowan runestaff capped with a glowing dusky orb

From "Do It With Flare." The thing is 1.5m on the shelf, so I'm curious as to how it differs from the other staves.

Yup! +20 flares, if anyone else wondered.

Edit: 4x, rather. +20 AS/+12 CS

I can confirm that the "Staves of A Cuteness" Runestaves at 1.25 mil are 4x acuity, which yields +20 AS / +12 CS flares.

Mindiloish
06-24-2013, 11:40 PM
no 4x acuity would add +20, not 12. its +3cs and +5 as per level of acuity.

zazulu
06-25-2013, 12:02 AM
Acuity flares: these are flares which trigger to provide a bonus to the caster's AS/CS for a single attack. The amount is a static attribute of the runestaff which can be further increased as a scalable service. For example, you could have a 4x/2x acuity runestaff, which provides +20 DS in all stances and has a chance to flare +10 AS/+6 CS (the CS value is always 3/5 of the AS). Acuity enchant ranges from 1 to 10x, with 1x being fairly common and 10x be extremely rare.

I stand corrected.
