I love the new shield manuevers that they released. Here are a few reasons why:

[Roll result: 221 (open d100: 70) Bonus: 26]
You feint to the left, the siren buys the ruse and twists awkwardly to block the blow that never came!
Roundtime: 3 sec.

A siren shifts to a higher key and repeats her last verse.

You launch a quick bash with your rolaren tower shield at a siren!
[Roll result: 198 (open d100: 47) Bonus: 25]
Your bash connects!
... 20 points of damage!
Vertigo! The siren clutches stomach.
The siren is stunned!
You swing a notched scarlet steel mace at a siren!
AS: +511 vs DS: +387 with AvD: +34 + d100 roll: +15 = +173
... and hit for 95 points of damage!
Incredible smash to what used to be a stomach!

The siren gives a plaintive wail before she slumps to her side and dies.

The problem with Shield strike is you can't aim, obviously. Nice skill, but not ambushing with an OHE seems painful.

That or mstriking something to death is generally the answer. Part of me wants to invest lores for 1605 to increase damage done, but I doubt the effort would see large benefits from it though.

Considering mstrike - have you played with shield strike mastery? Dunno if adding a bash at the end of an mstrike is worth shield points, but it sounds tasty

Actually I have, but it's not really worth it. Cool, but only works during a focused mstrike. Plus it's not worth 30 shield points imo. I'm unlearning it to learn spellblock for whenever I finally get my damned shield ensorcelled. Whenever that hell freezeover happens.
