My guess is I have my lich folder in the wrong area. Currently I have it on my desktop. Should it be in another file? Basically I log in fine, and it goes through its regular commands of updating and such, and when I try to put ANY command in (;lnet, ;repo download, etc) it acts as if it doesn't even register the command.

I didn't look at the folder. I thought you were announcing a pregnancy.

Right. Because would be the exact place I choose to announce me being pregnant. The lich folder.

Still don't have this fixed. So if someone knows how to remedy this with an adult answer I'd really appreciate it.

Thanks

Shari:

Not sure what version of Windows, but try putting everything GS-related in one directory. Make a backup before you start doing anything if you've got scripts or settings that you want to keep.

My personal setup is on XP:

C:\Program Files\SIMU\lich
C:\Program Files\SIMU\STORM
C:\Program Files\SIMU\SGE
C:\Program Files\SIMU\Wizard

Those errors you're seeing are because the files aren't where you told them they were (on the desktop).

Seriously. What the FUCK am I doing wrong? Is it maybe some sort of setting on my computer? I have the lich file unzipped in the SIMU folder. I can log in no issue but it doesn't acknowledge ANY commands.

Did you try reinstalling ruby?

Try renaming your scripts directory to scripts.bak or something. If the problem goes away, it's probably one of your fav scripts.

It's these lines that I'm cluing in on:

info: no launch file given
failed to read value 'RealCommand' from key 'command'
C:/Program Files/SIMU/lich/lich.rbw:8126:in `registry_get'

I know it's a PITA and very frustrating, but it sounds like you may have missed a step in the process of installation. In any case you'll want to double-click the red gem "Lich" icon in C:\Program Files\SIMU\lich which should pop open a new window. Click on the "INSTALL" tab.

This is what I've got for mine (yours may be slightly different, but you should be able to use Windows Explorer to check):

Website Launch Order
"C:\Program Files\Ruby-1.8.7-p352\bin\rubyw.exe" "C:\Program Files\SIMU\lich\lich.rbw" %1
"C:\Program Files\SIMU\SGE\Launcher.exe" %1

SGE Launch Order
"C:\Program Files\Ruby-1.8.7-p352\bin\rubyw.exe" "C:\Program Files\SIMU\lich\lich.rbw"
C:\Program Files\SIMU\SGE\Launcher.exe

Those are telling lich where to look and in what order to launch everything needed. If they're incorrect = no bueno. You can try hitting the REFRESH if you see that it's incorrect, and it should attempt to detect the correct information.

Then, there's two buttons on the bottom labeled install/uninstall - those are for adding or removing that information to the computer registry, NOT for actually removing lich/gs from your computer. If you need to make changes to the Launch Order information, you'll have to click uninstall, make the changes, and install. (I haven't checked the code to see if it makes a difference for the order in which you do these steps)

Hope this helps!

That error can be ignored. It just means that Lich wasn't installed to the registry, which is totally fine if you're not using the SGE or website to log in.

Shari, how ARE you logging in? Is it via website or SGE, or Lich?

Shari

I'm logging on through Lich. I click double-click on the ruby icon and do the quick launch.

I went and changed my scripts folder to scripts.bak. Obviously I couldn't access my scripts but I could maneuver through ;lnet. So based off that...what the hell do I do now?

The thing was, I didn't even have any favs scripts of my own when I was having the issues. All I had were the default favs scripts when I started experiencing the issue.

I'm guessing the problem is infomon. I'm not sure exactly how yet though. Try renaming your scripts directory back to normal, and rename infomon.lic inside that directory to infomon.lic.bak or something. Log in again to see if commands are still working. If so, rename infomon.lic back to normal and log in and post a log of what shows up on the screen before commands stop working.

Well, I'm not sure what I did but things seem to be working after changing the name of the scripts folder and then changing it back? I've logged out and logged back in 3 times just for curiosity's sake.

I guess I'm going to let it roll but if I run into any more issues i will try that next but as far as I can tell its fixed itself. WTF?
