Saw the design today, and I like it. Love the lightness of it contrasting with the hard lines. Looks pretty innovative. Only criticisms: ditch the retracting seats for baseball, and the super-graphics on the outside are unbecoming of a good building. In spite of his god-like abilities, bring AP down to human scale please.

How about they focus on a competent quarterback? Stadiums are sweet and all, but christian ponder fucking sucks. In the nfl you either have someone capable of taking you to the Super Bowl or you don't. Ponder ain't getting past the first round.

Concourses will be wider than those at the Metrodome, and there’ll be “many more bathrooms,” Kelm-Helgen said.
The most important feature.

I agree Shaft, Ponder is not good. AP basically carries that offense. But it will be 2 years before the stadium is done. Hopefully Ponder is gone and AP is still chewing up defenses in that first year at the new home.

I'm going with the trent dilfer defense. As long as Ponder can avoid making stupid mistakes and hold onto the ball, they can win. A top 10 defense, good special teams, and a great running game can work.
And actually overall Ponder didnt suck. Look at his stats- 18td , only 12 int. 62% completions. He actually improved quite a bit from 2011. His main issues last year was about a 4 game stretch where he did crappy or at least where the coaching staff didnt let him do or try anything with peterson going apeshit with the ball. And lastly look at the receivers he had, the only competant one was harvin, who decided to be a head case half way through the season.
I think if ponder with jennings and hopefully a couple of the rookie/second year wide outs can actually have some confidence they can do well. Crap the secondary and middle of the field should be wide open with the other teams D coming up for peterson.
Anyway
About the stadium, i think price is actually sans retractible roof too. Outdoors ala natural
brrrrrr

It is sans retractable roof... it has a permanent roof with an enormous quantity of clear panels.
And Ponder just doesn't seem to have good quarterback mentality. Sure it's possible to win without a great quarterback, but it sure is easier if you have someone who's at least above average.

We should spend a billion dollars getting the U better football. If WI can do it, so can we. I enjoy the college games way more than NFL games.

Those guys made it to the Super Bowl in a different era. Yes even dilfer in 2000. Grossman in 2006 wasn't even healthy the whole year. Might as well write orton/grossman, but they got there with defense and a killer running game with Thomas jones. The Vikings aren't making it to the Super Bowl when he's gotta compete with Aaron Rodgers, drew brees, kaepernick, etc.
Take away Peterson that is a 4 win team.

Agreed. Weak receiving corp, weak secondary and weak QB = few wins. Fortunately, I think they've done what they can to improve two out of three.
