I want to roll a cleric on an extra account. I happen to have the time to really work him for 30 days. Any suggestions for race, stats, training for a cleric to serve as a rezzer in my pocket?

I found there was a good synergy with overtraining cleric base up to 40 ranks for a cs cleric pocket rezzer/blesser. It gives you extra cs, lets you raise someone with more health/spirit when they come back and it can bless magic metals. You can do it by level 18, too. Of course it limits you to not much more than 107 and 202 otherwise but that's all you'll care about and you can fill in those lists if you keep leveling the cleric.

I'd go with dwarf and CoL, too.

Although you could also do Halfling now with less consequences if you buy encumbrance potions.

Forest Gnome as well. Same spirit regen, and +5 wisdom.

I think halflings are the ideal race for just about every profession, assuming the lower carrying capacity doesn't bother you. Just learn to go fluff less.

You just like their hairy feet.

How about Stat placement? I am pretty sure I screwed that up.

Strength (STR): 100 (35) ... 100 (35)
Constitution (CON): 91 (35) ... 91 (35)
Dexterity (DEX): 70 (10) ... 70 (10)
Agility (AGI): 70 (5) ... 70 (5)
Discipline (DIS): 71 (20) ... 71 (20)
Aura (AUR): 70 (0) ... 70 (0)
Logic (LOG): 43 (2) ... 43 (2)
Intuition (INT): 61 (5) ... 61 (5)
Wisdom (WIS): 63 (6) ... 63 (6)
Influence (INF): 33 (-18) ... 33 (-18)

Well if you are in your 30 days, I always say 100 LOG and DIS at least 70. You can worry about placing stats for whatever near the end of them.

Good point. Thanks.

OK, I am now level 18 and have ten days left in my trial. I have decided I'd like to keep leveling this guy some. Everything needs work, as I set him up for quick leveling during the trial. Suggestions, comments?

I'd like to go runestaff, but have no idea if I want to be pure CS or train spell aim, as I don't know the differences for clerics. Can a pure CS build be fun? Is it dangerous? I am very familiar with bolting, as I sold a wizard and still play a wizard as my main.

ETA: His SPirit currently sucks balls. Need to fix the stats. So, all help is appreciated.

I'd suggest a bane CS build with COL as a society. You can always choose to fixskill or add in spell aiming down the road to use 306 against undead if you feel the need. That's the route I took with my pocket cleric and I never really felt the need to learn any SA. However you have the option to do so and 306 is a better low cost option than 111 or web bolt vs living if you went with a smite build imo. I just never felt the need to bolt anything with +21 spell cleric ranks CS.

I'd suggesting cleric base +21, 103, 203/204, then work up the 100's to 120, then swap back to 200's for 220, then as you see fit.

Lores I'd suggest 1x religion lore to 25 ranks, then if you want chrisms swap to summoning/blessing, if not continue to 40 ranks of religion lore, then either pick up other lores or put the points into spells or keep with religion (though after 40 ranks its probably worth picking up other stuff). No lores and more spells is also a good choice.

1x HP, PF

SMC to 25 ranks or 1x

MIU/AS, you can 1x or stop at 24 ranks or 0 as needed/wanted. My cleric tends to double open hand channel so he's not getting much runestaff defense anyway, although its probably getting to the point where I'll need to one hand channel for the ds.

.5x perception, swimming/climbing (to 30ish), up to 1x perception later on.

You'll probably have to drop the survival/first aid but you can always keep it if you like to skin and just adjust other stuff, probably no lores, maybe less cleric spell ranks.

Anyway, my cleric has done this up to level 26 and is a great hunter. The drawback of course is not being able to make chrisms or having any other "fun" skills.
