I know Ive seen this before yet when I actually need to know it I can't dig up a post.

Whats the armor ranks needed to train off the various encumberance on armors? Or better yet forumla to figure this out would be nifty since all Ive ever taken note of was the ranks needed to train off hinderance.

Well...Its four Armor ranks to remove ALL penalties associated with full leather. Thats a start.

Go here (http://www.play.net/gs4/info/armory/armor.asp#Hindrance).

edit: Here's a chart I made. It's when you'll train off maneuver penalties if you're 2xing or 3xing and how many ranks it takes.

You fucked brig up. You didn't put the RT mod. There's also a random 12 after it. And it's misspelled.

You did the same thing to augmented chain.

Artha
08-17-2004, 01:31 PM
The 12 is brig's ASG. The RT mod is listed as 6.

Aug chain's ASG is 15. The RT mod is listed as 8.

Bobmuhthol

Oh, okay. The RT mod is in the AsG column.

Try formatting your shit correctly.

Artha

Are you looking at the same chart? ASG is in the first column, RT mod is in the second.

Yes.

LOL NEVERMIND.

So it's 8 ranks for doubles.

Someone fucking lied to me.

I was sure it was 8.

Same with me. It looked alright even before Bob posted a screenshot.

I thought it was 15 for double leathers. That's for RT, man, and spell hinderance minimums.

Bobmuhthol

15 ranks is a bonus of 90. That would mean you would need a bonus of 100, or 19 ranks, for maneuver penalty. That would also mean you'd have to be like a level 20 wizard before you could use double.

No.

AnticorRifling

So what's the answer bob. How many ranks to fully train off everything for double leathers?

Drew2

From the Play.Net armor hindrance site
The following table shows the base hindrances for each armor type. In no case will the hindrance ever be less than the value shown.

You can't train it off. Sry.

8 ranks for RT, 15 ranks for wizard hinderance. However, bard circle and sorcerer circle are 6 ranks, and every circle has no hinderance.

AnticorRifling

So 15 ranks for a wizard to wear double leathers with the minimum amount of hinderance. Thanks, that's what I thought.

I don't know why yours looks like that, Bob. I see it how Tayre posted.

Wizards also don't belong in GemStone. They really really really suck at wearing armor.

Does anyone have a link to page that lays out the number of armour trainings to train off the spell hinderance? The simu site gives a formula but that kinda math makes my head explode

lookup hinderance
You focus your mind and search for "hinderance" on the PsiNet Library.

I assume you meant on PSInet... that's all that happens.

I needed the practice, so I'm writing up a program that'll do all the armor crap. It'll get done...eventually.

armor skill required = (20 * hindrance percentage from the chart) - 10
Example: To cast a ranger spell in brigandine with 6% hindrance you need (20*6)-10 or 110 skill.

If you do not have the skill required, spell hindrances will increase up to "Max" hindrance depending on how short you fall from the requirements.

Type LOOKUP HINDERANCE1 for rank requirement table.
