Is it really worth the money? Thinking about a 10gig Ipod or the mini. Who uses up 10gigs of music space anyway?

I already have an mp3 cd player in my car..but with an Ipod, it would be much simpler to get new music. Plus, I go to the gym which plays a lot of Evancesnce (sp? who gives a shit), Maroon 5, Linkin Park. If I hear any of those songs again I swear, I'll lodge a dumbell in my ear.

250 dollars is a bit steep though. Ups? Downs?

Ipods are great, you pay a bit more for the interface, but it's worth it in my mind.

I'm getting the 40 gig one. I've got 35 gigs of mp3s now so I figure I'll fill it up within the next couple of months...

Yeah, 10 gigs is nothing really. I think the higher end ones, though are a bit too steep and unrealistic. Even though I've got whole harddrives of MP3's, I don't want to take most of them with me. Remember you are paying for quality.

I got one of those small Rio's at Walmart for $125 that works perfectly. Interface is clean and easy to use and it runs on a single AAA battery.

I bought a creative MuVo and got that replacement plan on it. Sure enough it crashed about 3 weeks ago so I used that money for the replacement plan towards the 20 gig Ipod. I agree that you don't usually want ALL of your MP3s. I would however go with a bigger one than 10GB. The 20 seems about right for me. I do like the interface and the remote control.

Is yours the little red and white one about the size of your palm? If so, I have that one too. It holds a little more than a CD and it's easy to change out the songs. I use it for the gym because it comes with a nifty arm band w00t w00t.

And also, if you want a free iPod, the link in my sig works. It's kinda hard to get done but it's a lot cheaper than buying one, I think.

Ask Edaarin if you don't believe me.

I want to get one too. Anyone know why I should pay $250 or so for a mini ipod that hold 4gigs worth of tunes versus a $299 regular 20 gig ipod? Too me it seems like for an extra 50 bucks I get 16 more gigs. The size difference didn't look all that big a deal. Is there something more to the mini that Im not seeing?

So as I was typing my last message my friend calls me to tell me he found a 15 gig Ipod when he was walking out of the gym. No one was around so he snatched it. The bastage.

The Mini is probably more suitable for like.. taking to the gym and stuff.

Also, the smaller stuff is the more expensive it is, usually. As far as electronics go.

Laptops, for example. Or Handhelds.

Here's the one I have. It's also upgradable to something like 1gig.

Well, it was on the ground outside in the parking lot but still.... My exact words to him were "You're a bloody slut!"

He asked if he should turn it in. I told him no, give it to me. To which he replied, well if I don't turn it in Im keeping it. Double Bastage.

Well if the difference between the two is really just size, I'll go with the bigger one..... uh....that sounds horrible.

I have a Dell DJ. It works pretty well (I've never had a problem with it) and I think their 15 gigs are cheaper than a 10 gig iPod.

edit: I don't know how iPods work, but you can also get a 1 or 2 year warranty on DJs that cover things like theft, loss, and droppage.

I've had an iPod for the past year and a half, and love it.

It was a second generation Pod, so it's only a 10 gig, but I've got my entire Pink Floyd album collection on it (pretty much every official Pink Floyd album ever made,) a bunch of Led Zeppelin albums, a bunch of Beatles albums, and almost all of the mp3's on my computer, and I've still got room to spare on the thing. You can probably do just fine with a 15 gigabyte one, but if you've got the cash to spare, go for the 20.

Don't get an iPod mini, they're a ripoff.
