Need proof it works
Making posts like this is the best way to get people to complain how on the officials how unfair it is that people are scripting the ticket buying and before you know it you'll have some type of captcha that will break your little app. Also I noticed this last ticket sale, this evening, your script didn't get first or even second ticket sold. I got those.. heh
It's true. But it was far enough toward the beginning to almost bag me a second ticket in the same offering of 25. And by the way - I'm the most vocal person on those forums right now about changing the way this happens. I created this app to try once and for all to convince Wyrom that he needs to change this. My spouse and I discussed this - after I have two premie and two basic accounts with tickets from the four batches in the second run, I'm going to write an email to Wyrom requesting he take the tickets back and shove them up his ass. He can use the extra weight there to counterbalance that ego that's keeping him from fixing this mess.
So you want some poor chap to buy this app from you for $300, at the same time your trying to get Simu to make your app obsolete, and unable to work?
nice red rep by the way.. lol?
Such software isn't impossible, I considered it but didn't think it was worth the time to do. I will call bullshit on it though.
212 times in thirty-six seconds I don't think so. As fast as an automated program can be, you're limited by the latency of your connection and the speed of Simu's uplink. It isn't impossible, but I think you're just trolling.

This would be one of those areas where I'd trust crb.

Who needs a ticket? Another 20 lines of code and he'll be adding his own MCP to items, 40 lines and it's time to create artifacts!
Can think what you want. The response to the first request was .047 seconds from Navigate function call to parsing in _DocumentCompleted return method. Now granted, when the tickets were seconds from opening the responses slowed down to around 0.53 seconds per request, but my numbers are not imaginary. The form actually has the counter and request count ticking away as it works - I did it that way in case there was a serverside IP activity monitor in place to prevent DOS attacks (which there doesn't appear to be). My ending stats for the fourth batch were 212 pages served and 36.4 seconds.
As far as not being worth the time to do? Like I said - 73 lines of code. Took me about two hours from dropping the form to completion, but a solid hour and a half of that was finding simutronics pages to source that would give clues as to what the source of the selection page looked like. The wedding event page was very very very very close and will point you in the right direction.
Like I said, not impossible, I've done that before (site scrapers/spiders) for other purposes. I just question the speed.
But sure, I'll bite, what did you make it in? I've only done them in php or perl.
