Hi, I recently rolled up a wizard for the first time. And not knowing much about wizards, I just rolled up my halfling's stats with the default generator. Now that he just about to train for the 10th time, I feel I could use some advice on how to fix up his stats and perhaps his skills if anything while he's still young. Thanks.

Stats (default):
Str...50
Con...40
Dex...90
Agl...50
Dis...70
Aur...90
Log...90
Int...50
Wis...70
Inf...50

Here're his current skill ranks:

Armor...2 (until 4)
Phys Train...10 (until 24)
Perception...10 (until 24)
Climb...10 (until 30)
Swim...10 (until 20)
Arcane...20
MIU...20
HP...20
Spell Aim...20
Elem Control...10 (until 24)
Wizard...9
Major...8
Minor...6

I hopefully want to get him fully singled in the far, FAR future in 2-handed weapons since he has a lightning flaring runestaff waiting for him to be used. Also, when he begins his weapon training, I'll raise his armor to 4. Thanks.

Runestaffs are definitely not worth training in 2HWs for. They hit like fists, and you're a halfling so you're going to have a really low AS.

I would train myself so I could quickly get to Level 10 or so. You had a 30 day instant migration so I would use it to your advantage rather than struggle through the first 10 levels using a runestaff/magic.

<<I would use it to your advantage rather than struggle through the first 10 levels using a runestaff/magic.>>

That would be good advice if the character was not already level 10.

You're wizard is similar to mine, except you're using a halfling. Sorry about your luck.

Don't train THW as a halfling wizard. That idea is ludicrous. I would say drop HP to 1.5x (that's what I do, and it will eventually be 1x, maybe even less, after I get to a nice level of mana and CS to leech constantly). Don't stop training in MC. Ranks will increases your mana return every pulse and adds to your runestaff DS. I would say drop AS and MIU to 1x but that would impact your DS. Train in perception for life. You have PLENTY of swim/climb for a long time. Lay off those tetriary skills for a while and GET MORE SPELLS.

Anyways, let me see if I can remember. 910, 414, 509. Then 910, 518, 414. Chances are you'll be tripling spells like I do.

Keep 500's at like-level for good leech CS and 513 bonus. Run 900's up to 920 (no real mechanical advantage here, just in my opinion a wizard should be able to have a familiar, if you don't want one, at least get 913 for DS), and after you get 920 start pumping up the 400's to get 425 and it's lovely bonus.

This gives you a real nice ROI for bolt AS, and chances are you'll be able to kill anything you want. You're DS/TD will suffer a little bit because 1) you are neglecting 913 and 2) you're using a runestaff (I refuse to change from 1x sword/shield) but you'll be a powerful bolter.
