I just really really really hope Buffalo doesn't reach for one of the QB's at #8

Word on the streets is they might grab nassib. They can get a qb in round 2 though. Manuel might still be there

I'm still bummed that the Vikings gave up Percy Harvin for some eh draft picks. They'll be turning around and drafting receivers with them, and be lucky to find someone anywhere close to his skill level.

According to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport, West Virginia WR Tavon Austin is the No. 1 overall player on the Bills' draft board.

Austin is screaming up everyone's draft board, so this is almost certainly a smokescreen play from the Bills. If they can trade back in the first round and still get their man in Syracuse QB Ryan Nassib, it's a win-win. The Jets, picking at Nos. 9 and 13, and the Rams at Nos. 16 and 22 have both been linked to Austin.

I think that's just the Jets and Bills playing cat and mouse. The Jets said they were interested in grabbing Nassib before the Bills could so now the Bills are saying they might grab Austin before the Jets can.

Personally I'd rather they take a safer pick like Chance Warmack if he's available. Or just got BPA.

He was a malcontent in MN. Also coming off of a major injury. Don't blame them for moving him.

He's gonna be good in Seattle though.

I think this upcoming season is in the shitcan anyway.

Stock up BPA's for next year when there's a new head coach and start a real rebuilding.

Remember Reggie Bush in Pete Carroll's offense at USC?

I'd have an enormous erection if I were a Seahawks fan.

Yeah I can't really blame them in some regards, but he's incredibly talented. He certainly had his minuses to go along with all that talent, but when your receiving corp sucks as badly as the Vikings and you ship away the best one you have, it's tough to get excited about their prospects.

I was shocked to hear some talking head say they thought Tyrann Mathieu would go high in the 3rd round. I am an LSU guy and I like the kid, but he is sort of a fuck-up, plus he is not big, so what are they going to use him for, a return specialist only? In that case his size might work to his advantage. But who takes a risk on the kid?

Drew

I'd like the Dolphins to take Tyler Eifert.

Certainly there have been no shortage of idiots in the NFL, just saying that most of them did not begin the SUPREME lunacy until after they had a contract signed and the ink was dry.

My response to your follow-up would be to refer you to my previous question.

edit: getting caught doing drugs isn't really that crazy for an athlete on a professional track. Imaginary girlfriend played by a dude? THAT's pretty fucking crazy.

It was not the getting caught, hell I think I was the only guy at LSU that did not at least smoke weed in the 80's. It was the getting caught, being told stop doing it, doing it again, being told again, then getting arrested at someone house who was smoking and maybe dealing a little weed. I do not think he is an evil kid or anything, every interview I have ever seen of him makes me like, him, but he has a very serious flaw when it comes to judgement. Which I could see if he was top 5 prospect and worth the hand holding until he matured some, but a high 3rd round? Is he worth the effort involved or do you draft him and see if he makes the team and decide then to offer him say a 1 year deal and go from there.

I wouldn't be shocked to see Matthieu go in the 2nd. He has the talent

I hope the lions get one of the lt's, but I doubt the 3 good ones will slip. In that case grab dion Jordan or milliner

Keller

Wait - Matthieu as a 2nd rounder?

Are you kidding me?

TheEschaton

Why is it the Bills are always reaching for some QB, pronouncing him the next Jim Kelly, and then rinse-repeating in 2 or 3 years. God, it's enough to make you want to murder Tom Brady.

SHAFT

I have an idea for a gambling contest!

1-32, you can buy a spot for 500k. First draft pick from this draft who gets arrested, the member of the PC that has that number, gets all the money.

You can buy 3 spots max.

TheEschaton
04-25-2013, 10:17 PM
Is it AFTER the 32 are picked? Cause that would be too easy to figure out.

SHAFT
04-25-2013, 10:19 PM
It would have to be at this point.

So far no character questions. I can't imagine too many will be in the first round.

SHAFT
04-25-2013, 10:20 PM
No one could get arrested for years. This could take a while.

The Rams finally have a WR to compliment our crosseyed eight foot tall qb. Now. Linemen.

Dion Jordan could be the next JPP. Are the Dolphins that smart? Probably not.

See if they can trade owners. I hate to talk shit about someone from MI named Stephen Ross, but he's a terrible owner.

When Percy ranted on Frazier I knew he'd never play another down in Minnesota. I was thinking we'd get a 2nd round pick for him because he's a headcase. I'm glad we held firm and got a 1st rounder atleast. Spielman drafted a beast in Kalil and Smith has proven to be a great improvement in our secondary. If we drafted 2 starters and a project at WR by the time our stadium opens, plus those new jerseys, we won't have wasted APs prime.

thefarmer
04-26-2013, 02:58 AM
I'm mildly hopeful about the Giants pick

TheEschaton
04-26-2013, 03:03 AM
Well, we have 41 and 46, and our GM who looks like a colossal retard says that we may not be done at QB yet. But can you imagine drafting Geno Smith at 41 after drafting Manuel at 16? That's so crazy my mind can't even comprehend it.

SHAFT
04-26-2013, 09:33 PM
Digging montee ball to Denver. I'd expect McGhee to be cut soon. If ball wins the starting job he 'll be an excellent rb2/rb3 for fantasy.

TheEschaton
04-26-2013, 10:10 PM
Watch the Bills take Nassib here in the 3rd round like chumps, and then cut EJ Emanuel. Blow smoke on Nassib by showing the vote of no-confidence by having his old coach not pick him, then pay him 3rd round money when you get him on the sly.

That would be the only way I could justify taking EJ Manuel. I mean, Matt Barkley isn't even off the board yet.

SHAFT
04-26-2013, 10:13 PM
Yeah....the Manuel pick was questionable. Not sure what to say about it. There are a lot of solid QB's left.

TheEschaton
04-26-2013, 10:14 PM
Matt Glennon off the board just now before Barkley. 3rd QB taken, round 3.

SHAFT
04-26-2013, 10:25 PM
Barkley was being talked about as the #1 pick if it wasn't for Luck last year. He chose to stay at USC.

Ardwen
04-26-2013, 10:30 PM
and he was shown to be a mediocre system quarterback, bet the teams that didnt get him last year are happy

SHAFT
04-26-2013, 10:33 PM
Landry Jones too. He was highly touted. Still sitting.

The draft is usually my favorite time of year. It's the only time of year I'm hopeful as a Bills fan. That has been taken from me this year.

We're approaching the "half my lifetime since the last playoff appearance" for the Bills. In fact, that time is in 4 years. Easily doable.

Lattimore to the 49's is a good thing. I'm looking forward to seeing him recover fully and play.

Yeah, that gives the 9ers 3 quality RB's. gore won't last too much longer and lattimore is better than hunter. I could see lattimore having full control of the 9ers backfield in 2014.

thefarmer
04-27-2013, 10:53 PM
Lattimore has great hands and I could see him getting a chunk of playing time this season just being a pseudo receiver from the backfield until he and the coaches deem him 100% recovered and adjusted to the faster NFL game speed to be a true RB. I just hope, for his sake because he's a pretty damn awesome person with some fucked up luck, that he can recover 100%.

It would be an interesting play-action type set with Lattimore and Gore (both able to run and catch a pass) in the backfield behind Kaepernick.
