Looking to roll up a lil bard.

Of course I want her to be able to sing to items and gems, but I also want to have fun with her. I already have OHE using characters so I'd like to try something different. Looking for suggestions and training plans. Thanks in advance! :)

Go poles and 1x air lore for life.

Unfortunately, the only way to be an "uber bard" is to have post 100 TP's. I'm just now starting to notice a serious difference versus the other peons. That being said, I would suggest either TWC, or heavy spell doubling.

Poles or TWC, eh? Hmm. I already have a TWC user...I guess maybe I need to sacrifice uber for viable and fun...I'm kinda burnt out on that type deal.

What about a bow wielder? Can that be viable for a bard? I've never had a character that uses a bow....

Archery sucks. For real.

Sure, you can try it. It's somewhat expensive, but 2x ranged, 2x perception, 1x ambush, 1x spell, 1x dodge should be a good base.

What race would you suggest?

I think giants can have the lowest RT with larger bows due to strength bonus, smaller races have higher AS. I really have no race preference, and it really doesn't matter. However, if you want to be different, halfling and dark elves are the least played bardic races.

Hmm. Now to mull stuff over.

Thanks for all the help Artha and Soulpie!! :)

You could also try one of the new races, but I know 0 about all of them.

Aelotoi bard with a bow that would be interesting to say the least. Bows are alot of fun.

Half elf polarm bard. Make sure your agility and dex is high enough so you can swing a lance in 5 RT by the time yer 25.

2x polearm
1x armor
1x dodge
1x cman
1x spells
1x pf
1x harness
1x lores

Should work.

I would do a dwarf.. but I'm partial.

Dwarves > all other races.

Also, dwarves get bonuses for larger bows and crossbows.

Archery is good as long as you do your homework and attack critters with lighter armor types.

If you like underhunting and feeling ineffectual against things in heavy armor, archery's for you.

Horseshit. There are plenty of critters around that have lighter armor and you certainly don't have to under hunt.

Archery is pretty fucking powerful right now.. so much that I fear it will be downtweaked.

I play a Pole-arming Half-Krolvin Bard. It's really fun so far, in my spare time I've gotten him to 10. Using a Lance in 7 seconds, mstriking at 12.

Erithian Bards are the best just because of stat bonuses.

I agree with Park, Archery is very powerful right now. My dark elven rogue lvl 34 with his bow is almost unstoppable at his lvl and then some. I usually hunt about around 36 to 38 trains and he does fine

Here is me uphunting by about 16 levels.

A kiramon defender clicks oddly and snaps its mandibles together.

Roundtime: 2 sec.
You attempt to blend with the surroundings and feel confident that no one has noticed your doing so.

The kiramon defender clicks its mandible and jerks its head back and forth searching for something.

You are now in an offensive stance.

You leap from hiding to attack!
You swing an ancient iron battle axe at a kiramon defender!
AS: +240 vs DS: +188 with AvD: +37 + d100 roll: +100 = +189
... and hit for 55 points of damage!
Downward slash across the kiramon defender's left thigh!
Gouges bone!
The kiramon defender is stunned!
Roundtime: 5 sec.

Kiramon are pathetic.

Artha

True, they're not really difficult. I figure kiramon easyness makes up for everything having really low bolt DS.

To m ake an uber bard you need to have an uber sig and avatar (lame excuse so I can post these because my school hosting is now gone).

Artha

Your sig should be http://forum.gsplayers.com/images/upload/Soulpieced/424.jpg
