What an idiot...but commenting on the warn? Also stupid...warn's an OOC verb. You should've just nosetweaked him (you probably could've hit that MD), and left it alone.

Once someone uses warn on me like that.. sorry, it's no longer roleplaying.

And anyone that would use WARN like that would also use report and assist like a puss.. so why would I take the risk of losing my guild skills?

No thanks. Simply inform the idiot of their mistake and move on to someone else. No sense in trying to roleplay with that.

You would think someone from the ICE-age would know that when you miss with a cast by over 100, that even though he swung and missed, you still aren't going to hit him.....

Once someone uses warn on me like that.. sorry, it's no longer roleplaying.

Simple solution: whisper. Whisper is used to convey OOC thoughts/messages/whatever.

And I meant tweaking him instead of attacking him.

Where did I not whisper to him about WARN? I re-read the log and I still don't get your point.

You quietly whisper to Krenith, "Sorry little fella.. warn harassment isn't because you can't ward me. It's for real harassment."

You quietly whisper to Krenith, "And when you figured out you couldn't touch me.. then you warn harrassed me like a little girl. Now run along."

Those were the only OOC things I said about WARN.. and they were both in whispers.

And I hate the guild.. so I don't have tweak. Besides, like I said before, anyone that would use WARN like that would obviously report things like "WAA! He's abusing his guild skills on me! Make him stop!"

No thanks.

From a character standpoint.. there's nothing OOC about Falgrin saying "Now that's rich." He could easily be talking about the stern warning glance Krenith shot him after missing him so badly with a spell.

The only reason you think it is OOC is because you were saw the private whispers... nothing more. If you had a character in the park, you wouldn't think anything of it.

And as far as handling him once he claimed he was so old.. I was merely trying to end the roleplay.. since at that point he already ended it. It wouldn't have been IC of me to simply walk away at that time. I ended it as quickly as I thought I could for the people in the park that were seeing this exchange.

Had he not been a puss and warned me like that.. I would probably still be there. Nothing more enjoyable to me than making fun of someone who claims he is so old.

I for one thought the log was great. Krenith = idiot.
And Parkbandit (Falgrin, I guess?) was entirely IC from what I can see... Krenith is a whiney little Garr-bitch. Once he realizes the person he's conflicting with could wipe the floor with him (or, once he realizes he can't wipe the floor with said person), He'll toss out a warn to shield himself. Which doesn't work, as Falgrin pointed out. The GMs would have laughed at Krenith.

Actually.. I'm very much looking forward to GS4.. but for the higher possibility of catching my thief.

Currently, I am almost never ever caught. Certainly, I don't target rogues as marks, but old characters rarely ever see me.

Most of the fun from stealing is trying to talk my way out of it.

Those poison needles are an incredible waste anyway... They're like, 10k for a single use? And you can't get the thief arrested either. So instead of getting only 7k stolen, he wound up losing 17k.

How often do thieves really die from them though? Rarely, if ever.

What should have been a great roleplaying aid is rendered pathetic simply because there are so many willing to openly help thieves.

Its simply SO ooc to do so that it sickens me. Sure, you are friends with the thieves player, nice, great, knock yourself out. The thing is that no one would openly help an exposed thief in public for fear of also suffering punishment. This is especially true in such a time as we are supposed to be in. If you just think about it a second there is not much debate there.

I am not bashing thieves, I think they add tremendously to the game, but am hoping against hope that the coming system will help this sad excuse of a stealing system that now exists.

Many times healers don't know why someone is diseased/poisoned. Sometimes it was due to a creature, sometimes due to someone else trying to hurt them, sometimes from the scarab they didn't disarm properly. And since a thief will never be forthcoming of how they received it, the empath will just heal it.

However those that witnessed the thief getting hit by a needle and helping them are being a bit wrong. I know one time I was stealing from a friend to see if I would get the needle, which I did. I went to the market to get some healing and they didn't believe me that it was all a joke and I had to find a way to get rid of it myself. I think I actually outlived the disease, come to think of it. I almost got mad at the healers, and then realized that they did the right thing in case I was a real thief.

If I caught you stealing, there probably wouldn't be much time for talking! I'm one of the bastards that just stuns the thief into next year, and either kill you there or take you out of town.

I don't hold a grudge or anything, and I won't be locating you all week afterwards, but I see theft as an attack on my person (when it is done by a stranger).

From your perspective:

Prep 905

Cast at Falgrin

>Cast at who?

If I notice my mark all of a sudden prepping a spell or grabbing his/her weapon.. I'll normally slink into the shadows for a second to make sure of their intentions.

Sure, some will nail me before I can move.. but unless they silence me.. we can still roleplay :)

905 is self cast. If I know someone is stealing from me and I don't like the person I will walk one room away, put up targeting, cast spell store and then have 505 (tonis) or 415(estrike) prepped and stored. Then I walk back into the room like I don't know what's going on.
