The Mercantylers' Guild Invites You to Discover Solhaven!

Fifteen years ago, the safe trade route between Solhaven and Wehnimer’s Landing was officially established. In many ways, this marked to start of a new era for those west of the Dragonspine, making commerce possible in ways that it had never been prior. Trade agreements were established, relationships were forged, and Elanthia was made better for it.

This year, the Mercantylers' Guild of Solhaven invites everyone to celebrate this important anniversary! Please join us Restday, Ivastaen, the 19th through Feastday, the 25th for a week of festivities. Merchants from all over the lands will be on hand to help commemorate the event, offering their wares and services to those in attendance. Whether a long standing citizen, a curious tourist, or just someone passing through, this is the perfect time to Discover Solhaven!

On behalf on the Mercantylers' Guild, I extend this invitation to one and all, and sincerely look forward to presiding over the events.

Merchants may elect to visit during this time, but we are not billing this as a merchant heavy event in Platinum or Shattered. The shop openings will run concurrently with the festival in Prime, May 19th – 25th.

Heeding the invitation from the Mercantylers' Guild, Zandeva will be traveling to Solhaven in order to participate in the upcoming celebration. Widely unknown, she could not miss this opportunity to introduce herself to the world at large. In hopes of sparking interest in her work and making a name for herself, she will be offering two glamour tattoos in addition to general cosmetic work for features.

These can be pretty complex, so I wanted to give you guys some notice on coming with ideas if this is a service you plan to go for.

The famed merchant of Aldora, Taeliryn, will be visiting Solhaven during the upcoming Discover Solhaven Festival! In addition to a restocked inventory in her home away from home, Caravan Consignments, she will also have two enchanting slots available. So bring your weapons, armor, shields, and runestaffs, keep your fingers crossed, and you may walk away with better gear than you arrived with!

There are some restrictions on what can be enchanted, as follows:

* Nothing over 7x (+35) may be worked on, meaning the final enchant after the service has been completed will be no higher than 8x (+40)
* Padded/Weighted/Flared items can be enchanted, but only if the padding/weighting is heavy (10 points) or under
* No items with combat, or mechanically beneficial scripts can be worked on. Pure fluff only. This means no fusion.

Well, your Unarmed Combat System Equipment (UCSE) anyway. I' m proud to debut a brand new, never before seen, fluff script for UCSE items at the upcoming Discover Solhaven Festival! In addition to having items sold off-the-shelf with the new script, I will be available in one of my merchant guises to ADD it to your existing items, and unlock additional verb traps.

"That's nice, but what does it do?"

I thought you might ask that, so here it goes:

GLOVES
Tier Verb Messaging
1 WEAR You slide the leather gauntlets over your hands, the supple leather warm against your skin. Slowly curling and uncurling your fingers, you test the feel of the leather until you arrive at an ideal fit.
1 REMOVE Tugging gently at the leather, you remove first your right gauntlet then your left, taking the time to massage out any tightness in the palms of your hands.
1 PULL You pull at the ends of your leather gauntlets, tightening the fit as your fingers flex inside them.
1 TAP You tap your clenched fists together, once, twice, then raise one hand in a beckoning motion, welcoming all comers.
2 RUB You slowly rub your hands together then clap your hands once in anticipation.
2 CLENCH Balling your hand into a tight fist, you raise it defiantly skyward as heatless, blue flames erupt around your gauntlet, and then quickly fade.



BOOTS
Tier Verb Messaging
1 WEAR As you slide the leather knee boots over your feet the faintest of shocks courses up the length of your legs. Slowly curling and uncurling your toes, you test the feel of the leather until you arrive at a comfortable fit.
1 REMOVE You remove first your right boot then your left, taking the time to massage out any tightness in the soles of your feet.
1 PULL You pull at the ends of your leather knee boots, tightening the fit as your toes flex inside them.
1 TAP You bounce lightly on the balls of your feet and, eager in your anticipation, adopt an aggressive stance.
2 POINT Pointing your foot, you draw an imaginary line along the floor with your toe, daring anyone to cross.
2 STOMP In a bid to draw attention to yourself, you loudly stomp your foot against the floor as crackling energy dances around your boot, and then quickly fades.


* Note that these examples were created using a pair of gauntlets with fire flares, and a pair of boots with lightning flares. This is significant because some of the messaging differs based on what, if any, special ability your item may have. Some of the verbs can be targeted at other players as well, but I'll let you figure out which ones.

In addition to the fluff verb traps, items with this script support the use of a LONG + SHOW description, to better accommodate your altering needs!

The anticipated week of celebration is finally upon us! Merchants will begin rolling into town tonight and tomorrow, and some may continue to trickle in throughout the week. Each merchant (and the GM behind them) will decide on how to announce their arrival and any services they will be providing, meaning an advanced schedule will not be available. Many will likely choose to announce here, and/or in the Current and Upcoming Events folder, so be sure to check often! Most of the shops and carts will be set up along Bayside Road, in the Old Market Plaza, and in South Market, but there may be some scattered throughout town as well, so you are encouraged to explore!

Heavy-timbered stalls fill this corner of the South Market, where Fishmarket Pier joins the market proper, and the onshore breeze carries more of the odor of the day's freshest catch than some might wish. Supporting stacked sacks of grains along with milled flours and amphorae of domestic and imported oils, the goods being hawked here appear to be of varieties less affected by the fishmarket's ubiquitous bouquet. A catwalk extends to the southwest behind the Market's row of east-facing shops. You also see a haggard matron, the Aiya disk, a colorful peddler's wagon and a modest dark walnut cart with some stuff on it.

Rough red oak planks line the interior walls of this small wagon. At the back, behind a counter of long glass jewelry cases, a red oak door leads further into the wagon. A small sidebar folds down off the wagon wall, with a copper-banded chest resting below it. A central strip of polished oak flooring stretches the entire length of the wagon and down a trio of steps leading outward. You also see a large colorful sign.

Grains of sand pried loose by the wind and rain form a tiny bank along the facade of the Captain's Rest. The building's weathered sandstone walls and salt-flecked slate roof give it the honest appearance of being one of Solhaven's oldest structures. You also see a small wrought iron menagerie wagon and a gleaming faenor gate adorned by a jeweled carmine spiral.

Only thing about TAP is it doesn't last as long as RUB on most magic items.

The crystal holders were introduced a few EGs ago. You can find them in playershops now. If you look at them they will have "a single, empty setting".

Chrism holders again were introduced at EG and some were recently sold at the new Mist Harbor monastery, though they're gone now. If you missed them you can usually find them in shops by looking for an empty bezel setting.

I know houses usually give both kinds of holders out as prizes at events too.

Taeliryn and her tiny house on wheels got stuck in the mud on the way to Solhaven, but they have now arrived. Better late than never! She brings with her new inventory, including items that should be of particular interest to Solhaven citizens.


The staffs, lances, and spears in the cubbyhole are designed specifically for citizens of Solhaven. In the hands of a citizen of some lesser town (yeah, I said it!) they will not have the same special actions.

After a moment, the banner fades away.

In the tall cubbyholes you see a pale ironwood staff, a steel-bladed ironwood lance, a steel-tipped ironwood spear, a white faewood staff, a steel-bladed faewood lance, a steel-tipped faewood spear, a polished ebonwood staff, a steel-bladed ebonwood lance and a steel-tipped ebonwood spear.

Serving a dual purpose, this little alcove offers a small amount of respite from the flurry of activity in the main room. Tucked in one corner, a porcelain washbasin perched on a gold pedestal rests near a white cotton cloth on a small, brushed steel hook and a cedar waste bin. Hung above the basin, a vaalin-framed oval mirror allows for a moment of vanity. Reflected in the mirror's polished surface is a tall closet that stands just inside the golden oak arch framing the view of the room outside.

In the tall closet you see a large vial of pure potion, a muted lilac silk satchel, a jet-on-cream organza silk pouch, a pair of oxblood leather sandals and an ebon-veined statue of Voln.

Absolutely! My brother got married to a Milanese girl in Milan on the 11th, and then the rest of our family spent the rest of our time on a whirlwind tour of the country. I have some less than stellar news to report. My internet decided to take a total nose dive on me, being a stupid, unfeeling network of fiber and tubes and, not caring at all about me, you, or our final festival day extravaganza :( I'm writing this from my local Starbucks on a 10 inch notebook. I will do my best to still meet the previously posted schedule, but its going to be a challenge. Ten inches, in this context, is not very big.
