View Full Version : post 30 days stuffs
Is there place to find a decent current guide with different viable paths post 30 days?
I have this problem searching for info on any profession, its all just so outdated..
Also, as a cleric, which two stats are the least important? About to set for max... From what I gathered off the internets, I'm assuming INF should be 20-30 at level 0? What else? This is a sylvan, but I would like some 'general' advice in stats post 30 days that could loosely translate to any race.

For guides and training paths, I have not seen any recent training guides for clerics. Sadly, I'm not really comfortable enough in the class to be writing up an exhaustive guide like I did for wizards. But, as far as I can tell, there are three main paths:
CS caster focusing on Bane/Smite and such.
Bolter with 2x spell aiming, making use of 111 and 306, and whatever spell web is.
Melee Cleric swinging weapons.
Rescue Cleric, focusing on field corpse recovery, Chrism-creation, and field rezzing.
Not sure what other types of training you'd be interested in. You're asking a very open question, like asking which profession to choose in life.
You have a few options for setting stats.
1) Set them for max TP... this will make easier levels nice and easy. TPs are a calculation that are directly related to your stats. So, higher stats in primary things... more TPs, more skills, yay easy. This will likely result in requiring a fixstats when you hit 100, and losing a ton of TP in the conversion.
2) Set them for Growth. This means stats will be high in the things that don't grow quickly, but lower in the stuff that goes fast. The goal is to make your stats be at 100 when you hit level 100... or as many as possible. But, this also means that TPs will be lower at first, and the early levels more difficult.
3) Mid-Tier growth. Set your main stats to start maxing out around 60ish, with the anticipation of Fixstating when you get to 100, and only losing a handful of TP.
For growth, you really shouldn't need to tank more than 1 stat... Although I'm not sure if INF is the right one to choose, I'd defer to a more veteran cleric.
Thanks Whirlin.. My advice seeking seems broad because it is.. I'm asking not just for me, but for the future returning noobs who will inevitably end up here with the same questions.. Tryin to save some time haha in vain I guess.. Every google for cleric guides... Turns up Danay's, Aquamarine, Tavarion.. Guides with names I remember from the last time I played that have no relevance in today's gemstone.. Same goes for pretty much any profession search...Whirlin can you link your wizard guide? I found Dartaghan's, and Celtic's.. from 1996 lol. I think that was the guide I used the first time I played...
Maybe one of you guru's can start a thread with links to the most up-to-date guides on each profession post 30 days. as well as a 30 day guide for the general populace.
Anyways.. I guess this forum is destined to be the victim of every returning player with the same questions that cant find current answers..
As far as my own path, I will likely go pure(used to be ohb), and have searched these forums and found a decent starting point to plan my training.. So thanks everyone for that..
And as far as stats, I'm setting for mid to max growth depending on how many tps I end up needing, but they all cant be 100, so I'm wondering if INF is the right choice to tank... And if its wiser to tank just one stat, or semi-tank 2 stats to bring the overall number higher, and which two stats that should be..
Again, thanks Whirlin, and thanks everyone who have kept the information flowing on these boards..
oh, and krakiipedia is great too.

In your first 30 days, just play around with your skills. Try a pure build, try a weapon build, try a mutant build and see which one you enjoy playing most.
I can tell you from personal experience that a swinging cleric can be really fun and it's a pretty easy path to 30. Pure clerics work too though and are still pretty easy. See which way you enjoy playing more and then go from there.

There's my wizard's guide...
Once of the days I'm feeling zealous, I'll likely invest the time to write some more guides... People seemed very appreciative of that one.
But Bard would be before Cleric... I'm still rather new to the Cleric job as mine is only 21ish, so I don't really have as good a grasp on all the nuances yet.
Awesome guide Whirlin, just awesome.. That's exactly what I'd love to see for clerics, and all professions... Very concise, all-inclusive information useful to all varieties of the same profession. And make it easily findable for those who need it.
My wizard thanks you Whirlin ;)
I'm off to play the guessing game with my cleric's stats, unless someone else wants to chime in?
