LOL, got to love when a Liberal doesn't get his way. Let's bemoan the same methods they cling to in order to bully through what they want when they don't get what they want.

You can whine about the source of the article, the speech is public record.
Mr President, you lost, you and your guys made the rules and you still lost so man up and grow up.

Does this mean the incessant temper tantrum over Obamacare will be over?
Man up. Grow up. And all that?

What a crock of bullshit. I love how he is accusing repubs of playing politics while he is flying civilians into D.C on air force 1 to lobby for him. Also, that 90% figure gun control activists keep tossing out is a joke.

Gabby apparently enjoys nodding too.

I used to feel badly for the parents of Sandy Hook who are pawns in all of this.. but they seem to be willing pawns.
Like many have already pointed out.. this legislation wouldn't have prevented the tragedy. The focus is on law abiding people when it should be focused on mental health.

I believe Gabby is being manipulated as well and I find it sad. Who knows how much she has been diminished mentally because of the injury or who is pulling her strings. Biden has a really awesome unhappy face tho which I found awesome.

Yea.. that's mostly from her husband though IMO. He has bigger aspirations than being a former astronaut... and this is the the easiest vehicle. My favorite was him going out and buying an AR-15.. and when caught.. he was doing it to find out how easy it is to buy a gun. LOL.
His hypocrisy is just what it takes to feel right at home in DC.

If that is the case that is even more sad. I can understand that he would want to start advocating against guns. Things are born out of tragedy all the time. But to politicize it, and use someone who is so damaged, instead of yourself just seems so wrong. If her husband had started a lobby group or non-profit or something to campaign against gun violence I would understand that. But don't use her as the figure head and make her stand with the president. He should be standing there.

It's purely a distraction. The more they push the Evil Guns angle the less they have to talk about anything else that matters.

The next item on the agenda to filibuster is immigration reform. Then we'll be ready for a very interesting mid-term election in 2014.

Whining, Veiled threats, and a lack of solidarity in his own party. Love it. And you're absolutely right, this is the attempted "Squirrel!" of the week brought to you by the Government, though I think the Boston Bombing took a lot of wind out of their sails. Pretty tough to advocate for lawful citizens to be unable to protect themselves during the same week there is a terrorist attack.

Oh and I can't wait for immigration reform to become the focal point of things again, hopefully it's timed well with the identity of the foreign born Boston Bomber here illegally or on a student visa. That'd be just swell.

You're right. Because GOP voters whipped into an anti-immigrant/brown people frenzy has worked out so well for them in the last 2 elections, right? The tragedy in Boston doesn't magically erase demographic changes.
Sounds like he's advocating for a spark to set off a civil war, not necessarily that the GOP would win any votes.

Could you point to the specifics on how you made the leap that the GOP is "anti-immigrant"?

Faaaaaaantastic! news for gun control advocates:
"Look I know you're going to say that I'm just being an optimist and I'm trying to put a good face on this. But you know I've been around here a long time and we've already done, because of you, some really good things," Biden said. "Number one, the president is already lining up some additional executive actions he's going to be taking later this week."

We weren't supposed to post in this thread. It was supposed to keep building into an epic Republican hissy fit.

And minutes after signing them there will be a court challenge which he will ultimately lose, just like I still believe Obamacare will ultimately lose, either because it will be brought back before SCOTUS and dismissed, perhaps not the most likely scenario, or it will simply fold under the pressure of its own weight because it is such a poorly crafted bill.

The Court is unlikely to look at a law they have before.

I don't give a fuck about either party. Both sides are equally damaging to this country. I'd like the next election to be run like tech support from a third world country.
Having trouble with your Government? Have you tried turning it off and then back on again. Fire everyone. Ban them all from every "serving" again.

O pilgrim, look well, for I was once where you are, and you will one day be where I am. (This was inscribed on a skull. That possibly should have gone first.) If it bleeds, we can kill it. Nobody said it was easy. Nobody ever said it would be this hard.
I anticipate Terrence backing me up with some good booking, and I therefore rest my case.

This has gone far beyond Boston.
Details are emerging in the Boston Marathon bombing that suggest the case will not only be remembered as a local tragedy, but also one with broad political and economic implications.
Authorities believe the two suspects may have ties to Chechnya, news that could rock the debate on immigration reform unfolding in Congress. A police officer in Cambridge died in a shooting, two days after the Senate voted down a gun-control bill. And law enforcement has the city of Boston on lockdown, just as billions in across-the-board spending cuts are hitting local authorities.

I'm waiting for a background check Bill to be introduced for pressure cookers. Especially the high capacity ones.
No one needs THAT much food. We should regulate them more.
