I'm too lazy to do any searching so I'll just ask here instead since it's slightly on topic.

Full chrism gems only need to be worth 3k+? I was always thinking they had to be diamond quality gems.

Pearls and shit work just as good?

Yeah, it's really just about the sung to value being worth over 3k, and of course, being an orb. Appraisals at the gemshop are subjected to trade and racial modifiers, and even song values are subjected to a hidden roll for how accurate they are.

I've heard some rumors that the loresung 'quality' indicator may play a factor into chrism-ing. And that some of the low tier quality may not work, but I've also heard this widely dismissed as hearsay. In other batches, even though I'm scripting the orb and quality checks (thanks to Gib!), I'll usually find 1 gem that won't work for some unknown reason. That's why I included more than just 100, to buffer in case of nonsense.

I think one of them is a chrism already also, since the gemshop appraised 104, but there were 105 in the bag. Consider it an added bonus, and me being lazy.
