I am thinking about purchasing a wii u for a nephew and one for myself. But the wii u is in a wierd situation right now. It's sales totals suck. Every system is beating it in monthly sales. Even the vita. Partly due to a lack of blockbuster titles right now

What do you guys think is going to happen to it? Will the system flop? I know the 3ds started slow out of the gate but now owns 80+% o the market share of portable systems. (not including mobile). I played around with a system for a bit. It seems like a cool concept.

I've been following news about the wii u. And a lot of retailers are doing in house price drops for the wii u. No official price drop yet. But this could be a bad sign. They could be trying to get rid of stock. Maybe at a loss. But once the stock is gone if no official price drop. Why would they replace it.

What are your guys thoughts.

My friend and his wife swear by it... It's got great interconnectivity with the 3DS. They've been using it to play Monster Hunter 3... My friend and I play on the 3 DS, his wife plays on the Wii U. Each 3 DS and controller functions similarly, but allow us to retain our own save games, etc. Wii U acts as a more powerful server to handle rendering the game between the different devices.

Given that everyone that bought a Wii got horribly burned by the titles released though, I'd definitely wait and see what else gets pushed out onto the system. But it's also heavily dependent on what type of games you want to play. My friend and his wife said that they feel they've already gotten their money out of the system just for MH3. Dunno if that game is your cup of tea or not.

Actually MH3 is my main draw to it right now. I loved them on psp, just wish Nintendo didn't pay Capcom for exclusive rights, smart move by Nintendo though.

I'm hoping the Dragonquest MMO comes overseas, but time will tell.

Nintendo wont abandon the system short of the whole company going under, so no worries there.

I used to love Nintendo. Sadly, the Wii killed it for me. They used to have so many great RPG's. Now EVERY game has to be a wii movement type game. I don't wana plat Dragonwarrior and have to swing a remote around for hours on end.
