For those that may not know me very well. I'm a 23 year old stress case. Highly overworked and sleep deprived for the last 5 years seems to best describe my life. Well, one of my escapes is writing/lyricism. I do some spoken word stuff from time to time and would just like to share for those who care to see. There's no title for this one. I kind of wrote it on a whim.

Cooly and gently touch
Such is your demeanor.
Fluttering flirtatious gestures
Spoken with eyelids.
Two blinks, then a wink.
Smile for a short while
Caught me, off-guard, off-beat.
You knew how to interrupt
My tempo.
Stacatto, legato
High notes and false hopes
Easily, i play into your opus.
From first caress to
Emotional farewells
Don't stand a chance
From your entrance, enchants.
One word from your
Pursed smooth lips
Already the charm works
Its way from
Sound to sight
Heart felt recognition.
Decision:
My fleeting feelings become
More than just this or just that.
You've already sealed the deal to your appeal.

I would like to know how your trip to Vegas panned out.

Well, if i could sum it up in one word, it would have to profitable on my end. I don't exactly play poker just to have fun. If I did, i wouldn't play as often as i do now. One of my best friends, though, had the wildest weekend he's EVER had in his life. Basically, he just randomly met this woman, and she gave him the wildest sex he's ever experienced. Great weekend, good times . . . And since i know that none of the guys and gals that went on the trip don't exactly read these boards, the whole rule, "what happens in vegas, stays in vegas," stuff need not apply.

My whole life happens in Vegas, does that mean it's all a big secret? Just kidding, someone asked me that once and I thought it was funny.

Glad you had fun. Where did you stay? Hopefully this random woman did not also give your friend the wildest disease he's ever had in his life.

We actually stayed at that new Mandalay Bay place. I think it's called The Hotel. Very nice rooms, very pricey. I don't even know why we even stayed there. Most of our time was actually spent OUT of the room, especially me. While they went out and partied, I was in the poker room at Bellagio. And, I'm hoping that girl didn't give him some odd STD. I told him to get tested when we got back, and i haven't heard from him since. :?:

The Hotel @ Mandalay Bay is designed for convention-goers who are using the Mandalay Bay Convention Center. So yeah, I don't know why you stayed there. I'm surprised you could get a room there actually, considering theyr'e always packed due to conventions. But those rooms are nice, I've seen the model they have next to Shark Reef. Glad you made some money!

I would just like to share my joy to whoever reads my blog. After four long weeks of being a walking stress case (someone actually called me that in my office), my studying has paid off. I just took and passed my series 7 exam this morning! I was sweatin' bullets all morning, and it seriously feels like this huge burden has now been lifted. I hope everyone has a great day today.

I think it's related to investment brokerage, Spun. :)

Yep, you got that right HN. It's a general securities license. So, being that I'm now series 7 licensed, I am a registered rep for my firm. Though, this is the first of many licenses they have for me. So I'm far off from a stress break. They still want me to get my series 66, insurance license (so i do annuities; if you don't know what that is, just ask me sometime), and hopefully, they'll be okay with me getting my principal licenses which consist of series 22, 9 & 10, and the 53. It sure as hell is a lot to take care of within the next year/year and a half. I'm just glad my firm pays for all this stuff because i sure as hell wouldn't the expenses coming out of my pocket.

Well, now that i'm series 7 licensed, my series 66 licensing is coming up. If i pass this one on Monday, this means i can give out investment advice legally and charge people for it. But for people on these boards, i'll do it for free (for now ...). :D
Anyhow, it's another bland Friday night/ Saturday morning full of cigarettes, books, studying, and housework. A lot of times i find myself having to worry about things i shouldn't need to worry about at this age. For example, i'm 23 and live totally on my own. There is just one exception, my younger brother lives with me, and i'm putting him through college. The deal kind of goes like this, he keeps his head in the books, I pay all the bills and manage the household, which includes cooking, cleaning, etc. Now, I basically did this to ease the stress on my parents, but in doing so, i don't have too much of a social life anymore other than poker nights and random dates (which occur like once every other month, maybe less). Was this sort of sacrifice worth it? I wish i could answer that question for myself. Alas, i can't. At least i can comfort in the thought that my income supports the both of us comfortably and my parents have less stress on their minds.

I just got back from my series 66 test. After all my long hours of studying and hard work, i passed that damned test! Now that i have this additional license, my employer has given me a promotion with a significant salary increase. That's 2 down, 3 more licenses to go ....
