>
Littlespell's hands glow with power as he summons elemental energy to his command...

Littlespell gestures.
A gust of wind tugs at your sleeves. Suddenly, a fierce wind rips through the area, scattering everything in its path and making it difficult to remain standing.
Voldermort is knocked over by the wind!
Jara is knocked over by the wind!
The wind then subsides.

[Wehnimer's, Outside Gate]
Citizens, merchants and assorted dregs of society jostle against you before the great wooden gates of Wehnimer's Landing. Harried guards and militiamen try to keep the chaos to a minimum, but it is hard to keep track of those entering, let alone leaving, this large trading post. A dirt path encircling the wooden palisade of the town leads east and southwest. Nailed prominently to the wooden wall beside the gate is a sign you really should read. You also see a chipped brick, a Wayside Inn and a massive wheeled tower.

You attempt to move silently into a Wayside Inn.
[Wayside Inn, Dining Room]
This ramshackle hostel bears the signs of rough use by hard-bitten travellers and headstrong adventurers. Several blade-scarred tables and low stools are lined up against the walls, while the central area is dominated by a large firepit around which is a low platform covered with a few ratty bearskins. The clatter of clay tankards and the smell of humble victuals provide some small comfort to the steady stream of wayfarers who pause here to meet and greet one another. You also see some inviting tables and a steep stair.

The world grows blurry and indistinct. After a moment everything becomes clear again. Looking about, you see...
You also see a wooden shield, a Wayside Inn and a massive wheeled tower.

Obvious paths: north, east, southwest, northwest

Personally, I'm suprised Shay and other...characters like Qahaar have lasted list long. I think she's very justified in pulling you and I also believe that when the new death mechanics roll in, other people won't be so cool about dying for such a shitty reason as casting call wind. But thats my opinion.

Nope, I only killed Solescape after he attacked me. I've yet to attack anyone for NO reason. However, I'm sure Shay is already on the GM's lists for watching. I'm still surpised you/she's lasted this long. The exact same happened to Meta. While he actually RPed, his way was very....hands on. He often complained of GM's "being on his ass" etc and would get pulled for little shitty reasons, just like you were.

All my interactions with Sirina have been nothing but pleasant. She has always been acted professionally to me, and is rather quick to respond to PRO and Pageant related E-mails. In fact, she's hands down the absolute best GM when it comes to e-mail correspondence.

I am surprised you got pulled though. I think the main reason was because Littlespell was probably freaking out. She did address the problem of your slammer however. Unfortunately, he probably won't even get pulled for a talk.

Yeah, gotta change your behavior for twits. I"m sure if said wizard casting call wind was level 100, Shay's actions would NOT have been similar. Thus inconsistant RP and further proof he just does this to be an ass and show off his so-called power. Sad.

08-11-2004, 09:58 AM
We can't be 100% certain about that, Soul. It may be true for 90% of the GS population, but some people do act consistently despite the ability to get wrecked hardcore.

This doesn't make much sense to me.

If a level 100 wizard had done it, I imagine Shay the character could probably detect that she was seriously outclassed and that retaliating, justly, would be suicidal. That doesn't make inconsistant RP, that just makes a character dynamic enough to react depending on the situation.

And yes, he is an ass and he does show off. He's allowed to, within the constrains of policy, and I'd say he did that. The attack, intentionally or not, did not exclude Shay.

And in fact, for Shay, a female rogue who gets into no end of trouble, I don't think it's particularly out of character to be extremely paranoid when outside the town gates, seeing as how she's made quite a few enemies.

Asshole, yes. Inconsistent RP.. not so much. At least that's my take on it.

I've never seen a GM act unprofessional until I read Bob's log above. She was wrong in her eye rolling and taunting him(her?) with the name calling. One can only wonder why a GM with such a positive reputation would act that way unless bob/shay's character folder(s) have been labeled as trending towards high maintenance. It almost sounds as if she was trying to bait bob into going off on her so she could impose some sanctions or something.

In all of my GM experiences, even where I've been in the wrong, they have always been above displaying antagonistic gestures or subtle antagonistic remarks. It does make one wonder what the bigger picture is.

Dead-on, I'd bet. It reminds me of when the boulder scene was still popular (in its circle) and the GMs began to find ridiculous reasons to get rid of those they felt were responsible.

For instance, Covannent was locked out for 30 days for jumping out of the treehouse twice in ten or fifteen minutes. The reason? His jumping was apparently scrolling unwanted text on other players.

I'd have to agree, Jamus and Ganalon. For a GM to behave in that manner toward a player, there has to be more to the story than is immediately detectable. Either there's more to the log, or the GMs have just about had enough from this particular character and are watching for a chance to strike.

If the players in question never caused trouble, then sure, I would say the GM acted poorly. If the GM recieved a weekly paycheck and said paycheck was similar to or better than a McCheck, then yes, the GM acted poorly.

Since we know at one of the players in question does nothing but cause trouble and push the rules, I would say he could have been treated much worse.

Sirina is an awesome GM.

Her and Mitra are the best things to happen to PRO's in a long time.

She handles her work quickly and efficiently and goes out of her way to make events great.

I do not blame her reaction to the character.

If characters wouldn't push things she probably would have more time to do more important things she needs to be doing like answering referrals and assists, instead she had to take time to deal with this.

How many folks waiting in a referral line could have been helped in that 20-40 minutes?

How much work could she have done for a PRO in that time?

I do not blame her for being annoyed.

WTF Bob,

Who made you kill someone like that? No one but YOU.

Who could have said to the character hey don't do that again or I'll kill you? YOU could have.

Instead you caused a situation that caused a gm to have to take the time and unwind. It took that long cause she had to get all sides... thats part of her job.

Then she came back to talk to you.

Then I am sure she had to document it all... including your complaint about that other character.

How much time did that take?

And she did it to avoid a larger situation that would have affected three other innocent characters and how many more?

Would have taken two moments to insult the caster and tell them not to do it again or you would take action... would have been a situation to rp out.

Just my opinion.

I killed over 50 people, and got pulled twice. Both times I was asked if I was bringing my other character into a conflict. Both times I wasn't. So sorry for attacking someone who cast an attack spell. It wasn't my intention to kill him, and he shouldn't be so pissy about it to get a GM involved. And on top of it all, he lied to the GM and she ended it when I said I wasn't going to kill him again, which was very apparent from the start.

I cannot imagine the PTB making a decision which would allow any GM to lock a player out of the game without consulting with, at least, one SGM. They're obviously tolerating a lot more these days than they used to tolerate. To allow wholesale lockouts by any GM who gets the notion to do so doesn't make sense.

Most of the time they do. However, there are instances where it's not required. That's all I said.

If you're locked out... do you still have to pay your monthly fees?

I did. Got locked out the day I got billed, too.

Somehow, that strikes me as very very very wrong.

Well, I didn't write to billing, but they don't give you your money back unless you request it.

I recall reading somewhere that if you put an account on hold that's been locked out for 2 months, it'll be locked out until 2 months after you activate it again.

Apathy, it's pretty apparent that you suck dick. If you do not suck everyone's dick, you are being completely inconsistent.

Actually, Robert, I only suck dicks that are smaller than mine, for consistency's sake.

Looks like that makes you next in line. :P

Maybe if you had apologized to the player (not the character) and/or offered to recovery the deed lost, or even just had made your presence known, I would be more sympathetic to you, but those things all require maturity and honor...

It was in Wayside, and I would have been arrested. No thanks.

OMG YOU QUOTED HIM IN A POST LATRINSORM, NOW IF YOU DON'T QUOTE SOMEONE IN EVERY POST YOU'RE INCONSISTANT.

This argument is stupid.

Anyway, to clear things up on their policy on enforcement...you don't have to keep an active account, 3 month lockout means you can suspend your account, reactivate it 3 months later (AFTER writing to feedback to make sure your ban is over), then you can start playing again.

ROFL. I love it. Now I get a picture photoshopped after me. I really am popular.

BTW: As much as people hate it, Shay is pretty much in line with policy. Could be the reason Bob hasn't gotten her locked out yet. I don't see the problem.
