A few scripts and shock resistance are worth an extra 8 million?

More than that really.

I sold a set like these with fire resistance for 18m.

Permanent resistance is one of the rarest, if not the rarest, armor buff there is. Lightning is extra special because it is needed at high levels, and can't be gotten from a ranger. The last time a GM ran a merchant that added resistance to armor was, I believe, 2006. It was limited then, and you had to take a vulnerability with each resistance you got. It hasn't been offered since.

The only way to get it is to thus find it in the treasure system, and usually when it shows up it is like 5% resistant to disruption, or temporary, or tied to something else that results it in being unenchantable.

AFAIK there were just 3 sets like this that were EG prizes, lightning, fire, and cold. I have the cold, I sold the fire, this is the lightning.

I think the penchant for people to poopoo the price of permanent resistance (say that 5 times fast) is a manifestation of the rarity, not enough people are familiar with it enough to appreciate it.

By the way, the last time a merchant showed who was willing to add resistance. I don't recall what his charge was on 7x armor, but on 10x it was 40 million, and that got you a 30% resistance tied with a 10% vulnerability (you didn't get to pick the vulnerability either).

So ya, quite valuable.

Odd, I think the penchant to poo poo is a reflection on the actual usefulness. The thing I am curious about is how he got from +27 to +35 (these were not an EG prize I believe), not as up to date on enchanting as I used to be. Would love to be able to do a half enchant to round out my shield.

when were they +27? I know mine was an EG prize, pulled it out of the catfish pool myself...and they have the same scripts as this set.

Also, I think it is wrong to assume the price for 7x vanilla robes is 7m. I've sold 3 sets of 7x vanilla robes in the past 12 months, they went for 10, 11, and 12m respectively. 10m for vanilla 7x is probably a better assumption.

I'd be happy to loresing if there's any debate to the enchant.

Oh I am not debating it, just wondering if there was something I didn't know and would like to learn.

As I said, these are not an EG prize and I am more than reasonably sure they were originally +27. As for 10 million for a vanilla 7x, hope so, I am on the 6th step of the 7th enchant on a set, but the experience of the auctions folder suggests a considerably lower price.

Right now silvers are worth more than merchandise. If you look through past posts to December area and before, you'll find a trend of high silver value on 7x robes.

As the pawn stars are so fond of pointing out, lots of people asking big prices, doesn't mean they are getting them. Read those posts and find out how many of them sold.

If I weren't saving my cash to hike the PCT I'd buy these.

It's not that hard to understand though. Essentially, it's (free) damage padding for whatever you're resistant to and increased HP loss for things you're vulnerable against.

I loved my set of triple resistant, no weakness, plate when I hunted.

I am working on the last tempering to enchant my robes to +30. They are permanently 30% resistant to cold fire and electrical

Exactly, and my prices were actual sale prices. I've sold I think 5 sets of 7x robes in the past year, 3 vanilla, 1 resistance, 1 fusion. Only the one set, the pink ones, haven't sold, alas.

lol all these posts and not one bid??? These were actually won at Droughtman's and came with a +25 enchant. I'm a bard so am sure it's a full +35.

But, no one else has.

Ah ok, thanks. The info on them I saw indicated +27. No bids is more a reflection of the silver hoarding than of item value.
