PsiNet Down (08/10/2004)

It's down.

Sorry, I don't really know why. I don't host the server locally and my remote control agents are down as well. I've contacted the guy that hosts it- a volunteer- and he's looking into it. All I can really do is wait.

Part of the issue is this, so you all know what's going on. I have a friend from high school who is shockingly generous and runs the server for me out of the goodness of his heart. He recently moved to another town, and for the move, got one of HIS friends to host the PsiNet server. I don't even know where that is, to be honest.

So hopefully it'll all work out. I'll keep you updated.

I've tried that before. Some of them have had problems with the recent update or PsiNet is crashing their computer or PsiNet kicked their dog and they need to hear from me quickly.

That, and I can't use AIM myself if I have an away up.

Just set your away message to OMG YEZ I NO SINET IS DWON.

Get deadaim. You can set yourself as idle and still be on AIM talking.

That and it consolidates all the IMs in one window.

Oh and on the update, when you chat privately, there is a typo on the "You hear the faint thoughts [priavteto]:" something like that

If you need a new server I've got a second computer that does nothing but Folding@home. It's an Athlon barton 2500, 512 mb RAM, 160 maxtor HD, ASUS A7N8X mobo which I built myself. Gigabit ethernet to my main computer (both have gigabit ethernet adapters), which is connected to a cable modem. Gimme a U2U if I can help.
