View Full Version : What the most comfortable pair of shoes you've ever owned?

I ask you fine folks: What's the most comfortable pair of shoes you've ever owned? Did they have any downfalls? Price does not matter, style doesn't matter.
My favorite shoes are actually designed for running. But they are so comfortable I wear them ALL the time... but it's getting time for a new pair and I don't want to get another shoe style that's designed for running. I might get another pair of these but none of my casual shoes are really super comfortable.
My pick: Nike Air Relentless
When I first got them, I felt like I was jogging on clouds. They also have amazing breathability, so my feet stay cool and dry.

I have a pair of these. Pretty nice shoes, but the Johnston Murphy's are more comfortable. The Cole Haans are uber stylish though.

Merrell's barefoot tough glove shoes - http://bim.shopstyle.com/pim/b9/97/b997de133933e290a7e1f1445c74eb7d_best.jpg
I started wearing these all the time and, once I got used to the different way I was walking, ended up with no more back or leg pain.

I bought a pair of Nike Air for nursing school, which I now use to work out. Incredibly comfortable. They're hideous though, as they're ALL white. 100% white. It was a requirement. :(

I've been a devoted fan of Eccos for the last 10 years or so. They're fabulous. In that 10 years, I've owned *two* pair.

Recently I've been taking the dogs to an off leash park nearby that has a huge perimeter for walking. Takes about 40 minutes to walk the entire circumference. It's good exercise but it's muddy as hell in spots so I bought a pair of waterproof sorel boots. Man, I just love them so much. Not stylish but oh so comfortable.

They are rediculously expensive. I never would have paid full price for them, (mine were a gift from someone who knows someone who works for the company), and yet if you look at their website, they're so popular that they limit how many you can buy, at frickin $250 bucks a pair. When I got mine they were almost sold out. Crazy. Nice shoes, but not that nice. The Johnston Murphy Bicycle Toe is super comfy and very durable. I'm too dang big to wear crappy shoes.

They are expensive, but they often have sales on Zappos. I've gotten some good deals in the flagship store on Michigan Ave in Chicago, too. I walk in heels all the time, and I don't mind paying a little extra for good shoes.

Back when I used to wear suits I liked Allen Edmonds loafers.
Now I'm partial to my business casual John Varvatos and Bruno Magli loafers.
I'd love to show them to you, how do you insert pictures?
I'm relatively cheap and tend to buy only from places like MyHabit and 6PM.

Dude, those are standard issue boots in the military and uncomfortable even when broken in. Get some Corcoran JACs (http://www.discountdesertboots.com/Corcoran-CV4522-JAC-Boot-Desert-Combat-Boots.html?gclid=CNSFzfPgh7YCFaR_QgodPmQARg).
Right now I'm wearing Sketchers Urbantrack (http://www.amazon.com/Skechers-Urbantrack-Forward-Casual-Lace-Up/dp/B001AJ9BP0/ref=sr_1_1?s=shoes&ie=UTF8&qid=1363661367&sr=1-1&keywords=sketchers+urbantrack) but my only complaint is they are super slippery on wet surfaces.

I discovered them years ago, and have gone through 6 pairs. I usually buy a black pair and a brown pair at the same time. If I had a complaint, it'd be I wish they had more leather soles as an option. They are well made and you just cannot beat their comfort.

My Dansko Mary Janes are the most comfy, although they are (obviously) girly shoes and not sporty or anything. I can walk anywhere in them, and considering I pretty much only wear mary jane style or Converse, these are UBER comfy. 4765
My Mephisto sandals. Fabulous arch support for high arches. They're kind of ugly but when I'm just shoving my feet into something to run to the store or if I think I'll be walking a lot and don't care what I look like, they're definitely my pick.

Salomon trail running shoes. I've climed so many mountains/jungles in these things. Well made, not too much structure, good grip on the bottom, nice air flow for my sweaty feet and SWAMP PROOF.

I had my deployment pair for 4 years until a marine stole them from me. I'm still bitter about that and want a new pair eventually.

I have so many so many pairs but I only wear them sometimes around some people because I don't want to be one of those inactive active weirdos. *shamefully glances at pile of gun parts*

I would if I ever saw him again. He stole a bunch of other shit too, including a gameboy advance and a bunch of games, but I was most pissed off about the boots. A lot of memories tied up in them.

Technically not shoes... but these go on my feet as soon as I get home. Wearing them after a long day on my feet is incredibly relaxing.

I'd probably say my Edmond Allens are my most comfortable. Also the best quality pair of dress shoes I've ever owned, they hold up exceptionally well even walking to work.
I work on my feet for 8-12 hours for 5 days a week, and of all the shoes I've tried Nike Free Runs are the best and saved my feet.

I teach and the best shoes I ever had were sold at Wal-mart. I want to say they were made by earth works. Long story short the stopped making the type of shoe I liked. I have tried several other brands and even other earth works shoe and they have not worked like the original pair.
