soliciting opinions on this computer, the refurb price is right around what I want to spend and I would install Win 7 pro-64 over the Win 8-64

Hey I have like an 18 year old computer from HP that surprisingly still boots up. One of these days I'll get around to throwing it away. One of these days.

You have to get a replacement computer first.

Hey it runs GS, that's all I need. Now that I think about it that is the computer I used to play GS on. Wow, scary.

Hehe, I was just thinking about the first type of computer I used to play GS with. I'm sure it was quite similar.

We got HPs at work back in 2011, they're running great.

Derp... there's an NVidea 620 in there... missed it when I read through it..

You come down a little in RAM, but a bit more on processor, plus a graphic card.

All depends on what you're looking to do with it though.

NVIDIA GeForceGT 620 graphics card with 1GB DDR3 dedicated graphics memory

from the specs.

I was looking at Intel over AMD. GS and Pogo are the only games I play, so no worries on that front. My desktop is approaching 10 years old, time to upgrade the hardware and have something that will last just as long.

I am loving it. I kept the win 8 setup but tweaked it to act more like a desktop. except for one program in the Adobe suite (thanks work!) everything installed nicely, even lich. When I get motivated I'll hook it up to my big TV.
