View Full Version : Anyone buying accounts full of junk?

sold
I have 3 personal accounts left over from way back when. Don't really care to sell my own characters or the accounts themselves, just all the items. Though there may be a 56 empath I could sell as well since it wasn't mine.
I doubt there is any single item worth over 10m by itself unless container prices went bonkers. But there are TONS of things that should be worth 500k-1m or more. As well as TONS^10 of other smaller fluff, armor, weapons, imbeds, scrolls and whatever else the game had back then.
I haven't given details on any items yet but there should be 3-4 containers worth 5m+, plus some other very nice containers around 1-3m, and some other odds and ends worth something, some 6x and 7x items, as many 5x as both 6 and 7. Four locking containers - should have all the passwords. Plus a skull ring which can be used on another container. Some low end enchanices, 4x weighted weapons etc.
Looking to sell the character, and all the items as one batch. If you don't want the character that's fine.

I do this type of stuff. Based on your list of stuff above you have maybe 25m in identifiable stuff. So my offer would be $120 due to the fact that nobody is really buying/selling for coins right now due to CCF.
Edit2: I see you put the empath on there. So I would probably go $200 tops.
Edit3: Its a ton of work to go through everything and sing/assess/inspect and fill with shit to get exact weights.

I have 20-30m in containers alone. Possibly more. Plus all the other crap - and a third account I haven't opened to look at yet, but should have like 10 characters full on that account as well.
2-3m in mandis crystal shards, 3-5m in ruby amulets etc that goes on and on in small things like that. At least 20-30 smallish items that used to go for 250k to 1m, like the scripted gloves, the spidersilk sacks, the similar bags that were belt worn, the 1 lb/100 lb robes.

a midnight blue veniom-threaded backpack (Rasheak)
- weighs 8
- holds 120
a translucent spidersilk backpack
- weighs 7 lbs
- holds 125
- sings at 75k
a translucent spidersilk backpack
- weighs 6 lbs
- holds 125
+ 1 or 2 more translucent spidersilk backpacks that are probably 8/120
a vaalin edged dark silk satchel
- belt worn
- weighs 4
- holds 110
- scripted
- Masterfully stitched with dark silken thread the satchel is edged with vaalin sigils that elusively spiral across the sides. Stitched across the front is an incomplete maze. The pattern curves along the cloth elegantly, with several sharp angles here and there, coming to a final abrupt halt in the middle. Centered in the pattern, the House Faendryl crest has been gracefully embroidered above a six-tentacled star.
a rune-covered dark leather sack
- belt worn
- weighs 1
- holds 100
- Cinched with a glistening deathstone clasp, this leather sack is dyed a deep black in hue. Elaborate runes are decoratively stitched along the sides of the sack and trail down to meet near the bottom. A thick black strap allows the sack to be firmly attached to the waist so as not to hinder the wearer's movement. The interior is padded with thick leather to add additional protection for any items stored within.
a bulging merchant loot pack
- belt worn, 2 lbs
- holds 60
- This supple spidersilk pack has been tediously crafted for a well-travelled merchant. The flap boasts several small depictions of famous merchant craft: a rusty steel blimp, a mithril juggernaut, a felwood pirate ship, and a multi-colored pavillion tent. The body of the pack has been reinforced with vruul hide straps and locks with an intricate mithril clasp, able to store and secure many items.
a well-worn plunder pack
- back worn, 4 lbs
- holds 85
- skeleton lock/plunder
- You glance at your plunder pack. This pack is scuffed and scratched, giving hint to its many years of use. Typical of elven craftsmanship, the inside of the pack has been lined with many hidden compartments that can be used to store jewels, relics, and other valuable trinkets. On top of this ancient pack, a heavy leather flap has been securely sewn into place and clasped by a large vaalin buckle etched with the decorative runes of protection. Perched on top of the plunder pack is constructed from what appears to be a mix and match of broken bones is a miniature skeleton. The bones are drilled through and threaded with brass wire with an oversized ivory skull. Clasped within the bony arms is a tiny silver skeleton key.
a well-worn elven plunder bag
- belt worn, under a pound
- large amount
- The bag is well worn from many years of use. At first glance you don't notice anything special about it, but as you look closer you see many hidden compartments to store jewels, relics, and other valuable trinkets.
a stunning black elven vest threaded with silvery runes and clasped with vaalin buttons
- pin worn
- large amount 60 lbs
- weighs under a pound
a stunning elven-cut shirt - which should be on the unopened account
- pin worn, weighs under a pound
- holds a large amount, any number of items
- Tailored by a fine elven hand, this stunning shirt has been cut to fit snugly against an elven form. Woven of the softest black silk, the shirt seems nearly weightless as it holds close against the wearer's body without so much as the smallest hinderence to movement. Twisting spirals of vaalin that have been lightly trimmed down each cuff, while the inside of the shirt has been lined with numerous pockets of various sizes, each used to store jewels, relics, and other valuable trinkets.
an old cracked leather belt pouch
- belt worn, weighs 2
- holds large
an old cracked leather gem pouch
- weighs 2
- holds large, gems only
- belt worn
a salt-stained leather plunder bag
- weighs 3
- holds 49, large
- belt worn
a small black elven-crafted satchel
- 5 lbs
- large amount, any number of items
- worn on shoulder and back
- scripted
- The satchel is styled of fine elven design. Several hidden compartments designed for valuables and other precious trinkets are lined with plush velvet for added protection. Small vaalin studs are inset into the edges of the satchel each placed with exact precision.
Some things I haven't found but should be on the 3rd account.

You really have two options:
1) Do the work yourself and identify sing to everything plus put up for auction or flat priced sales. You can make some bucks but also consider the time investment.
2) Turn it over to the wholesalers like Buck and some others. They will take the work off your shoulders, but they are in it to make a profit. You can expect to get somewhere between 25/50% of the retail price on a good day.

Basically this.
Got to look at the Massive amount of time it will take you to go through all that stuff and sell it. If it was easy or quick, you wouldn't have asked.

I used to do this stuff when I played before - I know what goes into it. Worked with Gsauctions for a while, flipping some of his lower end grab bags, and dealt with all the accounts I flipped on my own - 90% of this junk is leftovers from those accounts.
I also have all of that crap done for most of the items worth something. The rest is easy to put in shops and sell.

I wouldn't be surprised at 5-10m in lockpicks alone. What are vaalins worth? 100k new?

I'd say it's worth the time selling this by yourself.

I'd agree with you, just sell it out on your own. But you may not get full prices till after RtCF.

The CCF runs start in June or July and go 1 per month for 3 months. I think Plat or Shat are in the middle and then right after is EG. Looking at six months or so.

AestheticDeath

No other offers that have met or beat my $300 min. But I will more then likely decide tonight to sell or not - so if anyone is interested bid before 10pm central.
And - if I do sell to someone - I am perfectly willing to spend some time helping them sort through everything, explain what I know of things, and help loresing with my bard.
Only keeping the accounts active for one month, but I would have that long to hold excess so you can make room if needed.

Fixing to add a CRAPLOAD of items on account 3 that was just opened. But I was unable to activate one important character (i think) so it is still incomplete until I get that one activated.
Found several more of my pin worn containers, altered stuff. Found a lot of good RP stuff. Blacksmith items, nurse/empath items etc etc.
Account 3 items are in post #4, don't miss the pin. -

I wish I could find my pin, "UTHENEGAL IS MY HERO!"
