Thinking about fixing to lance build

I'm considering trying something new and going the polearm route. I'm currently OHE.

Problem is I am a giant and currently would need about +30 bonus to my agidex to swing a lance in 5 seconds. I also want to use my sonic equipment, so no fusion gear or weapon/armor enhancers to help me get there. To start, all I have thus far is two of those giant only race bracers that add +3 to both agility and dexterity each, plus whatever bonus I can get on my adv guild badge at about 250k lifetime bounty points.

Sonic equipment and 5 second swings are must haves, else I will keep my current build.

Few questions:

1). Is it realisticly possible to get there with enhansives with no armor or weapon enhansives and no helm or aventail? (leg/arm greaves and non armor head and neck worn is ok)

2). Assuming 1 is a yes, how much in silvers would I need to buy the stuff I need? I can come up with at least 50 mil selling off my gear.

3). Reason I want sonic armor is that I assume I will get hit now with bolts. I want the elemental resistances to off-set that, and I can pretty much keep up sigil of major d at all times now hunting. Does anyone know for sure what improved resistances on 1014? - bard ranks, air lore, or both?

It's possible... it won't be cheap. However, I'd like to challenge your assumptions.

I don't know your level... this is probably #1... however, you said you need +30 to your DEXAGL to make it to the -4 RT threshold, so I'm guessing still pretty young.

Sonic weapons kick ass... but a 6x Fusion Lance could last as a viable weapon for a long time, and provide a cheap way to get the enhanced DEXAGL up to reach your goal cheaper and faster than finding the individual pieces to get you there.

At level 50, you'll have 30 MnE, 20 Bard Ranks (highly recommended to go for that). Your Sonic lance will be equivalent of 4x. (Base 10+(Bard ranks/2).
At level 70, you'll have 30 MnE, 40 Bard Ranks. Your Sonic Lance will be the equivalent of 6x.
... That's a long time!

Additionally, this could delay your training in Air lore until 50ish, when you're preparing to use your sonic weapon. Dump those additional TP into short term gains, and make up on the air lore later.

For Sonic Armor... I wouldn't be that concerned with getting hit by bolts.... that's why we have song of noise.


As far as answering your ACTUAL question... AGL will cost substantially less than DEX, but you're still looking at 2+m or so for a +5 Bonus piece. And you'll need at least 6 of them. I think when I got my badge at around 250k or 300k, and I was able to get +6 Bonus on my badge.

I'm level 52 right now. Can't login to check my stats but I think I'm around 35ish agidex without enhansives if memory serves right. My stats were set to nearish perfect at cap and for growth. Because giants get a -5 bonus penalty to both, I have a long uphill battle.

Actually, I thought I needed a 5 second reduction and now that you pointed it out..it's actually 4. I need an agidex of 53. That's totally doable.

Everything you posted I'm the oposite on. Im at level +1 in bard an no minors right now. I know, I know..no 425?!? But I've done the math and the way I do things bard ranks are more important. Don't care to go into all the reasons why right now, but...

I'm keeping it that way until 69 when I fix to 430/1040 and then continue bard song training 1x until cap. No fusion lance -absolutely no. I do train in full 1x air lore. It makes no sense to waste those good sonic flares. I'm also fixing to 140 ranks of armor for sonic full plate. Yes - sonic full plate. Lich will help me spam offensive bard songs until they cast when I want them and when I don't I'll have 1017, which will be most of the time. I'm going with a hard hitting giant with a sonic lance, full plate, and song of noise - and the most beautiful thing is I don't have to spend a ton of coins to make the build work. Pretty training intensive though, but I've played with numbers and figured it out. I call it the "anti-pure".

So guess last question is. #3 in regards to mechanics of 1014 and resistances.

at 52 having set up for 100s at 100 you are probably at +28 AGI/DEX bonus. You would need +25 bonus before swinging a lance in 5 seconds.

If that sounds doable for you then have fun.

It's higher than that. They are not perfect stats, just perfect-ish. I tanked intuition a good bit to help with some other more vital stats. I'll login tonight to find the exact agidex.
