The trial had drawn widespread attention in part because it involved a police officer’s disturbing behavior, but also because it raised a fundamental question: When does a virtual crime, contemplated in Internet chat rooms, become an actual crime?
This was pretty interesting to follow as the defense was always pushing that last question there--that this was all a fantasy. It got less interesting when more facts came out and at the very least the guy was abusing police databases and was definitely a crazy fucker.
Where's Lunn Windrider? I haven't seen any posts since I came back.
