Okay, so I already sent this to some of you, but I thought I could make more of a difference here.

This morning my mom pointed me to this website that donates pet food to animal shelters and it doesn't cost you ANYTHING. The website's sponsors will donate a certain amount of food based on the number of people that click on the purple button in the middle of the webpage that says to DONATE FOOD FOR FREE.

If you do this, make sure to bookmark it because you can do this once EVERY day and help out.

As I stated in the email some of you received, I usually only donate to animal causes instead of human causes because...and I'm sure I'm going to cause a ruckus with this, but people are able to help themselves, animals cannot. This doesn't mean I'm a heartless person and don't care about people! I'm saying that people can communicate to others saying HELP, I AM IN NEED OF <whatever>. Animals have don't have that option.

Well, thanks for listen to me blab on. Please help if you can. Here is the website:

If that doesn't work, someone let me know and I'll see what I can do.

I hate to be a downer, but somebody's getting scammed here somehow.

I was waiting for someone to say that. If someone can prove to me it is a scam, great. But since it doesn't cost me a single thing to click on a button, then I don't really see how its a scam.

Unlike other sites. This isn't a scam.

Sponsors become involved with this site (and others like it) as a form of advertising and public relations and thus are willing to pay for their messages to be viewed by consumers. They pay CharityUSA.com, the parent entity of the site, on a per-click basis; CharityUSA.com directs a percentage of the total ad revenue collected towards animals shelters and sanctuaries and keeps the remaining funds. (The Animal Rescue Site is not a non-profit entity, so it shouldn't be confused with a charity even though it does direct a significant portion of its revenues to those in need. It exists to make a profit, and that it's still around proves it's succeeding at it.)

Hey, I clicked the button too. But I know I'm not going to buy any Pretty Kitten Pillows or North Sister T-Shirts or whatever those banner ads were for. And I know there's no such thing as a free lunch. So, no money + lunches being generated = somebody getting scammed.

Its not really a scam, per-say.

Basicly it works something like this.

They throw out an idea to X ammount of compaines. We will get you lots of advertisement for cheap, if you help us out. The contract would look something like this.

You get to have an ad on this website. We will promise X ammount of traffic, and you must pay us 2 cents per hit on this page with your ad.

They do this with 20 different companies, and if they get (lets average low) 50,000 hits a month. Thats 40 cents per hit, or 20,000 a month. They give out 85% of that to the animals, and keep 15% of it as "fees to run their company". So $17,000 would go to the animals, and they keep $3000 a month. Now, if this is ONE person running this, then bam, you are making $3000 a month to host one small website. Seems like a good job ta me ;)

Pets benefit from me clicking my mouse once? I got no problem with that.

I don't care if it's 15% or 85% of the profits. Food is food.

Hey it doesn't cost anything then it can't hurt to click it. I guess the firms advertising figure x% of those who click will buy. If it feeds animals in shelters then all the better.

I can understand that it easy to help animals as opposed to humans. Not all humans are responsible for there circumstances. I would hate to be born into poverty in Africa or born to a crack addicted mother etc. Yes we have free will and choices but some of us have more choices than others. I donate to human and animal causes.

It's no different from television commercials. Companies pay stations to air their ads so you see them. These companies pay a small amount to various charitable issue based on how many people click and prove they visited the site, thus seeing their ads.
