I am thinking of trying a plain 7x enchant, but want to run my skills by those who have some enchanting experience first. I basically want to know if they are considered adequate for a 7x enchant attempt.

Level 65

Your spell lists:
Minor Elemental...56
Major Elemental...65
Wizard Base.......55

Arcane Symbols.....................| 234 134
Magic Item Use.....................| 234 134
Harness Power......................| 167 67
Elemental Mana Control.............| 167 67

Aura (AUR): 100 (30)
Logic (LOG): 100 (25)
Intuition (INT): 88 (19)

Thanks in advance!

As a novice enchanter doing his first 6x and researching various expectations I'd say you can safely and probably easily manage a 7x enchant.

I think you'll be fine.

Thanks for the input! I just kicked off my first 7x enchant (some double leathers). 12 - 13 days temper time...

I did my first 7x enchant before level 40 with 1x wizard base.

You would be fine doing a 5x fusion enchant with those stats.

Good to know. Thanks!

Now, if I can just get my hands on one of those Ayveneh potions on the cheap...

According to the krakii harness power doesn't get factored in, just mentioning it because I saw you posted it. Does anyone know if this does factor in? I've been pumping MjE and Wiz, soon will have some points freed up and looking for a mana boost for hunting. Krakii shows that EMC factors in but not harness power..so in order to get the mana boost I'd like and help with enchanting I was thinking of doing EMC.

It depends on what you want to do with your wizard. If your primary concern is hunting, and growing the character, then it's a much more complicated answer. If your character is just a pocket enchanter, then forget HP and just train up EMC and such.

But if you want to hunt more effectively:

Harness Power will almost always give you better returns than EMC for mana recovery for the TP cost. They both cost 0/4 for the first rank, 0/8 for the second rank, so fortunately, we have even ground.

EMC requires 10 ranks for +1 mana recovery. 10 ranks of Harness Power is +10 mana.

10 Ranks of EMC may provide a tier for multi-cast and spellup verbs... But, this is a time saver, and doesn't materially influence your hunting duration. EMC will also assist with 516 in some way (damnit... do I need to test this too?). It'll also provide a full +1 to mana recovery in node and off node. And then the whole enchanting thing.

10 ranks of Harness Power provides max mana. +10 Max mana, +1.5 Mana recovery offnode, and +2.5 mana recovery in node. So you have a larger bucket going out on your hunt, and more mana dripping in each minute.

However, I started by saying "almost always"... so what should you do?

If mana is an issue, you unfortunately need to do some basic maths to determine the necessary additional ranks of Harness Power versus EMC needed to improve mana recovery. For example, if you're sitting at 59 mana... training in 1 more HP rank will provide +1 mana recovery in and off-node. If you're sitting at 29 EMC ranks... do the +1 rank for the +1 mana recovery. if they're both even... well... then its your decision based on the above details.
