View Full Version : Automatically Highlighting Names

So I thought it'd be nice to have a script that would highlight any cleric and empath names.

Found one script that outputs an .xml file with names of people currently on (via who profession) that you then have to manually import into SF. You also have to delete .xml file manually each time you want to run it.

Looking to make the process much more automated and easy to use.

Was wondering if one of these is possible....

A. A command you can run from a Lich Script to put highlighted names into SF's list, then a command to delete the .xml file.

B. A way to get the import to happen automatically (only adding names), maybe then delete the .xml file automatically.

C. At least a way to get the script to open the .xml file each time, add to it, then save it again, so I could just import it once in a while to fill in any missed names.

And if there's a more automated script out there, that works too!

Thanks for any help!

i wrote that hacky bullshit you're talking about (if i recall) as more of a proof of concept at the time. Didn't put much thought to it. I believe it actually already does add to the XML the deleting was more to keep the file from getting unruly since there's no checking for duplicates. unless lich has changed there's no way to add highlights directly from lich or that wouldn't have been that silly way to begin with :D

deleting the file is certainly doable, as would be loading the file into a lich script to check for duplicates, etc. within the logic and exporting the final list. I mean, it's ruby...you can pretty much do whatever once you're running a trusted script.

Does anyone know for sure if you can or can't highlight a name in Stormfront through a lich script?
