a curved rowan lysard - 5m mb

Some tiny storm clouds occasionally fade into existence on the surface of the rowan lysard.
Stylized inlays of gleaming silver accent the curves of the instrument, drawing attention to its ivory mouthpiece. Both the upper and lower ends are adorned with silver mounts which accent its octagonal profile. Although the body of the instrument is in excellent shape, the finger holes are no longer uniform and appear to be worn down from years of use.

FOR BARDS ONLY:
This is one of those instruments that creates things (in this case storm clouds) and goes through some ambient scripts with them. Note: These are particularly happy storm clouds, go figure.

Twisting about, the storm clouds dance elatedly around each other.
With joyful abandon, the storm clouds flow through the air in a rhythmic pattern.
Somber
In a reserved manner, the storm clouds sway back and forth.
The storm clouds float sadly like phantoms lingering on the corporeal plane.

If you play a different tune on the lysard, soft, happy, fast, etc. Does it change the storm clouds mood?

Not to detract from your sale, but unless you're a bard you will not be able to summon up those clouds. I was told when I got my instrument worked on that while it would be harder to summon, non bards would still be able to. Unfortunately, they cannot. I've bugged mine and had a GM look at it and while it should work that way since I have the appropriate number of ranks for that instrument, it doesn't.

From what I can tell there's little chance it'll be changed to work the way it was intended to.

My bard is only a journeyman and he can pull the musical notes out of his flute. I was also told people other than bards could make it work so you may be right in that they would need higher skills than a bard. Maybe it's like a bard bonus thing.

Yes. The GM looked at the code and even stated that I had more than enough ranks and it should have triggered the script.

I think there's a profession check first, then maybe a rank check and it's what happens after the rank check for nonbards that has the issue.
