You may have wondered (or maybe not:duh:) where I have been. Little life change going on for me. As I've talked about in the past I own a restaurant and have been working long long hours. Its really been a life's dream for me and I love it. Before that I was a personal chef and I loved that, but before all that I sold real estate for a living. Well, before I became a personal chef I had a health problem that has really compromised my health to this day. So after a few months of declining health, we came to conclusion that I was not able to put in 12 hour shifts in the restaurant. The hubby fired me after I collapsed in the kitchen and ended up in the emergency room (the bastard )

I'm not the type to sit around at home and I like working, being a personal chef is also very physically demanding. So I decided to go back to work in a office and real estate is where it is in Florida. Small problem, I was so convinced when I quit 8 years ago that I wouldn't go back I let my license lapse. This sucks big time.

The last time I went to school was for my brokers in 1994. I had to start all over and get my sales associate license and then wait a year while I work for someone else to get my brokers.
I finished school this week (one of the highest scores in class if I can brag:D) and am off in a few weeks to take the state boards.

That's why I've not been here much or ig. I"m compulsive when it comes to study (okokok compulsive about a lot of things) and competitive, being at the top of my class was good.

I will miss cooking for a living, but I'm rolling with the punches. I'm still going to run the kitchen menu's and recipes so I will get vicarious thrills from that.

A woman who is committed to her cause. Good luck on your state boards. <-- thank God for that smiley because I am not really all that chipper this morning. Just wanted to wish you the best. Being at the head of the class is an awesome accomplishment.

That expression is kind of misleading in that it's really hard to burn down bridges nowadays, what with them being made of metal. :(

However, I'm glad to hear that the sad face at the top of the post is not completely indicative of your situation. :)

Congratulations on doing so well in your class, hon! That's something to be proud of! I know it's not cooking, and you really love cooking, but it's something else you do well. The restaurant's loss is real estate's gain. :)

Thank you Thank you Thank you! BUT I wasn't the top student, but I'll take second! I was really worried because the first time I went to school was back in the (cough, cough) 80's when I got my sales associate license. I was afraid my brain cells were dying at a faster rate lately, as I can not seem to find my car keys on a regular basis. Doing better than the 20 somethings did boost the moral. of course the old guy behind me was number 1. :moon2:

It's too bad your'e not a chef anymore, it always brings a smile to my face knowing a woman's in the kitchen

I'm sure you'll do fine.
