Not that my odds of winning are anything resembling decent, but in the off chance I DO win, I've been thinking about what I would want to have flared.

Amongst my options are a 4x set of full plate, and a 4x permanent wand runestaff. Now, I was looking at the flare options, and while Grapple is normally pretty weak, it would offer knockdowns . . . that would A) be more useful than slightly higher damage against an attacking foe (especially buying time while stunned/disabled) and B) Be useful if I was using wizard wands in a perm. wand staff. The other options being Fire and Earth, what would be the popular choice for such a win, if you were going to use it on items like that?

Actually, grapple flares on armor are pretty sweet. That's what I'd choose, if I didn't already have them on my rogue's armor.

Well if I were to win, out of those options, I'd put grapple flares on the full plate. If plain 4x full plate is all you have, than those grapple flares will help a lot when getting plinked. If you are intent on flaring the runestaff, fire flares would probably be better, especially if mainly using the wand option. In my opinion, anyway.

Grapple flares hands down. Very desirable for full plate. Grapple and unbalance flares are the only kind of flare out there worth the consideration to choose over padding in my opinion.

Thanks for the input. I have a fire-flaring runestaff, so another won't do me much good.

So when someone else wins, I'll be sure to fantasize about what could have been.
