My question is what reason is it you first began to vote?
For me it was the 2000 election because I felt that something was so messed up. It was the first election that I cared about the results and the one that fueled me to vote in the next year. On top of the war and 9/11, I feel it's very important to vote.

Well, excluding all other reasons which I may value but another person may not, because if you don't vote you have no room to bitch about the country...ever.

Because my parents told me to, and I learned in school that it was something our forefathers died for. Started voting at 18.
I used to hate having to read those little newsprint guides about the candidates and the issues, but I did anyway, and actually voiced my opinion, however small it was.

I vote so all the old people's votes don't count.
Can't wait til they all die off and this country will get better.

I vote so I can say I earned the right to complain when the president does something that I think was dumb. Okay and if I vote for the guy that loses then I can just say "Well I didn't vote for (whoever is currently in office)"

I vote because I know someone more retarded than myself is bound to vote.
