tap tube
You tap a cylindrical instrument tube adorned with cocobolo buttons, which is in your left hand.

With nimble fingers, you unfasten each of the buttons holding your instrument tube closed, and draw the flap open.
>get shawm
You gently remove a lily-carved cocobolo shawm from the protection of its tube.

Rich, dark grains decorate the curves of the cocobolo shawm, which is preserved beneath a clear lacquer. Mint green moth saewehnas have been inlaid into the piece around its multiple finger holes, creating a scrolling vine that trails from the double reeds to the bell-shaped end. Artistically carved to resemble a calla lily, the belled terminus is lined with silver.

You carefully tune your shawm, testing the instrument for pitch and clarity.
