Okay so for the last year my boyfriend and I have been wanting to get a second dog. We have a huge back yard and our other dog is extremely active and loves to play with all our friends' dogs.

We went to the pound today and found this AMAZING siberian husky mix and I swear she has wolf in her. She's got those long legs and a very lithe form with those haunting dark amber eyes. Soooo pretty.

Anyway, she's very good on a leash and a bit timid, poor thing. She's very alert and liked chasing the birds outside the pound. Technically she's my birthday present because my boyfriend was the one who adopted her and it was like 85 bucks to do so. She gets the whole package though, spay, licence, shots, and one of those microchips. We can't even take her home until Tuesday because she is still waiting for her spay surgery. I CAN'T WAIT!

She's 2 years old and in great shape, and she's very good with people and almost seems terrified of the larger dogs in the pound, most of which were about her size! Anyhow, we haven't decided a name yet and wondered if anyone had some nice SHORT (no 3-4 syllables!) exotic names. We're sortof stuck on this Hawaiian name thing since we just got back from there a few weeks ago. We both like Pele and Kalei.

Any ideas? I PROMISE I will post pictures ASAP, as soon as I can get my hands on a digital camera.

That site is really nice. I can't believe that woman only got fined! She deserved to be thrown in jail for years. I really wish animal abuse laws would catch up.

Damn, that's a good idea. And it's a hell of alot cheaper then the tennis bracelet I was thinking about getting her for her birthday.

HAHAHAHAHA.

I like Kita...Keala is nice too. Kita is nice and short and will be easy to say 1000 times while I'm trying to get her attention. I'll bring up those when boyfriend gets home.

Whatever you pick. I urge you to think of how you would feel if you were a man calling this dog's name in public.

That is why I gave her a quick "Hell No" to Clarabell. Not to mention that's a cow's name, not a dog's.

That dog would be long gone before I would have the urge to shout out:

"Clarabell! Clarabell!"

My boyfriend's brother has a dog named Max. His wife, likes to call him Maxipad.

Could be worse, Wezas.

Oh, BTW...I think we've settled on one....Kenai. It's the name of a city in Alaska or a river or somesuch. I just want to find out if it means anything now.

Kenai means "flat barren land" or "trees". The exact meaning isn't that clear.
