Yep. They are. Measuring them will show you something similar to this I believe:
You examine the amber cabochon inset on the golden oak case and find it to bear a brilliant golden hue. Tiny shimmers and sparks dance within the amber. The amber cabochon appears to be absolutely flawless and perfect.

And analyzing them will tell you if they're permanent. But yeah the sign from the shop works too.
