Wearing and removing fusion gear

Can anyone shed a little light on this question for me? Am I increasing the rate at which my fusion gear's charges dissipate by removing and wearing them again? Basically I'm wondering if removing my armor to spell myself up is a bad idea because I'm increasing my chances of losing a charge every time I take it off and on again.

take the armor off every time you finish the hunt and are going to rest and only put it on when you're done spelling up and going to hunt

Are you pretty much saying that the longer you are using the enhancive gear the quicker it loses the charges, regardless of how many times you do the swap?

it has a chance to lose charges while you're wearing it, yes, and it has a chance to lose a charge when you put it on, best you can do is put it away if you go long periods of time not using it. I don't know how often the chances to drain a charge happen
