Lich with Windows 8

I've just bought a new laptop and am in the process of trying to install the software I need to play GS again. I've encountered all sorts of problems though which I can only put down to it being Windows 8.

I've finally managed to work around the SGE and game launcher issues so I can actually play the game but I can't get it to launch using lich. I've downloaded ruby and extracted the lich files as per the instructions and it lets me connect to find my characters but won't do anything when I click "Play" in that I get nothing, not even any error messages. Any ideas?

I remember hearing other people talking about this. Try running it as administrator?

When you run the entry, click install, then the restart as admin button. Then when it restarts run it as normal.

If you pin lich to the toolbar, and then Right click on it, you'll be able to pull up properties, and start it in Administrative Mode...
