Hey all,
I'm curious anyone live in around the new haven area in Connecticut? and would like to get together sometime? I will be there August 26th and so forth... Will be going to Southern Connecticut State University... Would be great to meet some new people down that way... since I'm gonna be spending 2 years there....

I used to live 20 minutes from New Haven.
And Stanley, watermelon martini's are for chix. If my mouth ever disobeyed me and ordered such a drink, I hope my balls would abandon ship and find a better home.
You'll be glad to know that I ordered those martini's while I was on lunchbreak which inherently makes me super-manly.

While it is cool to drink on your lunch break, it is still not cool to drink any-flavor martini's. It's like drinking a peach flavored beer. If it tastes like peaches, it really isn't a beer. If it tastes like watermelon, it really isn't a martini. I digress. But kudos on the drinking at work shit, at least.
Godamnit, you're fucking right.
I'm ordering a real hardcore, big-nuts, no foolin' chardonnay the next time I tramp in the bar.

North Haven here - the 'burbs of New Haven. 10 minute drive to SCSU.
As for Bar - it's a gay bar. I don't mean that as an insult - just being informative. That's what it is. They have plenty of straight people who go there, and it's very mixed during the day. But it's primarily a gay bar.
While you're at SCSU don't forget to check out the natural food supermarket on Whalley Avenue, up around 4 blocks from the auditorium. They have an awesome saladbar and hotbar for lunches. A wee bit pricey but it's by the pound so you can just get the things that fill you up best and pay less all around. And for natural foods, it tastes pretty damned good.

I have to agree with Jazuela about Gotham Citi. Been there before and def got an "odd" vibe from the place. Unless you play for both teams or are extremely comfortable with being hit on by a member of the same sex, find another bar.
As for the rack.. might let the right female, but most def not a male.

I used to live in Shelton and Derby for 2 years. That was enough.
The only redeeming quality for CT is the 2 casinos.

I don't know anything about Gotham Citi, other than that it exists and is popular. I was referring to the nightclub/cafe called "Bar." That's its name. Bar.
As for Derby/Shelton, don't judge the state by its cesspools please.
The best thing about Connecticut, to me, is early autumn, when the leaves on the trees look like a world of fire and all its flickering flames, the daytime is warm and dry, the night is cool and crisp, and the cicadas FINALLY shut the fuck up for the year.

Yes.. that's right before I have to start fucking raking the god damn lawn twice a week because I can't see shit with all the leaves piling up. And right before winter sets in where everyday I have to scrape ice off my windows in my car and shovel out from the storm the night before.
