Dateline 7/31/2004: HSN WEEK 8: MANA DISRUPTION ACHIEVES SOME FLAIR!

Through diligent studies, the sorcerers of the world have discovered the ability to once again set themselves apart from the masses. From this point forward Mana Disruption will strike at opponents in a much more unique way than previously.

Try it out.

Basically, Sorcerers will be getting the shaft again for HSN. However, like last time we will not have any room to bitch as ANIMATE DEAD will be due out shortly (1-3 months).

Disintegrate is also slated for new messaging, as well as updated mechanics. There is also talk of a complete re-work of phase, however that release could be some time away.

That and the disintegrate changes are slated for RSN.

All of these are against critters less than half the level of the caster, so you probably won't see these very often. But here's what happens when you totally pwn something.

... 35 points of damage!
The fenghai's head explodes like an overripe melon.

... 40 points of damage!
Gaping hole torn in the bay centaur's back exposing ribs.

... 45 points of damage!
The fenghai's cheek shatters, driving bones into eye.

... 50 points of damage!
The fenghai's lungs burst and so does its chest.

... 50 points of damage!
The pra'eda's spinal fluid boils, rupturing spinal cord.

... 30 points of damage!
The bay centaur's neck bones snap. Head looks precariously balanced now.

... 40 points of damage!
One lung bursts in the tan centaur's chest!

... 35 points of damage!
The cougar's kneecap explodes sending bone fragments flying.

... 40 points of damage!
The pra'eda's right hand swells and explodes into thousands of pieces.

... 35 points of damage!
The pra'eda's wrist bones explode, leaving only a stump.

... 40 points of damage!
The cougar's thumb explodes in a shower of flesh and bone fragments.

Whether the sorcerers are shafted or not, 720 is still the most effective over powered spell in the game, so no bitchin:P.

And yes, at least it looks cooler now.

I like the "spraying blood everywhere" bit. Reminds me of Kill Bill/and/or anime cartoons.

Who knew cougars had thumbs?

My cute little all dressed up in pink with bunny slippers sorceress is so not going to like seeing such gruesome things happen when she casts her favorite spell though.

Sorcerers are a bunch of whiney fuckers. How does this "shaft" them? Its just new messaging.

I personally get tired of Sorcerers always complaining about getting shafted. The new messaging is kind of nice, not that I actually noticed anything different until checking out this thread.

we complain because it's true, and the GM's even said it last HSN when they said we know Sorcerer's didn't get as much as everyone else, but we'll work on that next time.... not a quote, but my recollection of what they put out.

im happy with my sorcerer, and i know this is true of all professions and systems, when you are told that something is going to get done..it should get done. im not just talking for sorcerers im sure every profession and alot of systems have heard the same thing. Im just waiting for animate dead..which has been promised to us real soon. i hope that they don't find problems with it and delay it longer.

there, i ranted, sorry if i offended anyone. *pants* ill go back to work now.

What did rogues get last HSN?

Jonty
08-01-2004, 10:27 PM
Gambits, guild in Ta'illistim, and I dunno what else. New traps(not rogue specific, but geared towards rogues).

The reason sorcerers dont get much is because they already have more than most professions. All in all people need to quit their bitching. If you dont like what you are getting then dont play. Or role up a new char so you can be the uber character because your skills are better than everyone elses. See, there are simple solutions to the problem that dont include bitching. Try them.

Gambits came out two years ago...was that the last HSN? Or was it last year?

Guild in Ta'Illistim was nice.

Sorcs did get majorly shafted. But that was what...4 years ago? Isn't it time to move on?

Sorcerer's four or five years ago had a LOT to bitch about. They were getting screwed left and right with no hope in sight except to reroll. Sorcerer's now have no room to bitch. They have the same abilities of nearly every class out there, but they are better implemented. Their spells (granted, not all of them) are complex, well thought out, and not weak by any means.

<<was that the last HSN? Or was it last year?>>

What Jonty said. The idea of releasing something every week for HSN began in 2002, and there was none for 2003 with all the GSIV shit going on.
