View Full Version : Selling the Greatest Wizard of All Time

Methais
02-01-2013, 01:06 AM
EDIT: DUE TO A RECENT EVENT OF AWESOMENESS, THE SALE HAS BEEN CANCELED.But I'll leave the contents up anyway for the l33tness factor.

To the guy that sent me the "good riddance" rep the other day, please insert this entire post into your goatsehole. To everyone else, thanks for all the kind words, they mean a lot, as well as the reminders of how awesome I am.

(No longer) looking to sell the greatest wizard in the history of Elanthia. This will be an account takeover to preserve his house, which in my opinion, adds tremendous value to the character, as there isn't anything remotely like what is inside of it in the game. You'll see why further down. If you disagree with that, I don't care.

I have no set price, but am taking offers. Very, very high and ridiculous offers. This character is a pure killing machine to anything not immune to fire. He is an insanely destructive force in a troll warcamp like no other. Due to troll's fire weakness, immolate will hit them up to 10 times per cast instead of the regular 5, 908 splash effects have an extra flare, and 906 gets a flare as well. This is a troll thing and not a Methais thing, but when you couple that with 202 ranks of fire lore, everything in sight is dead in a matter of seconds.

Has roughly a 25-30% instant kill rate with immolate against anything, and usually crit kills otherwise. Can easily hunt anywhere without outside spells. Usually when you see me die, it's because I tabbed out while running my travel script to go hunt and then forgot I was playing and tabbed back over dead.

You can find more info about Immolation pwnage in this old thread:

493 Wizard CS.

Master of Sunfist. No idea if he can still society reset. I reset it once several years ago, but I have no idea if they become available again after X amount of time like FIXSKILLS do.

Also included is my house. It is account bound, comes with a deed and a bunch of neck worn keys (a sturdy razern key suspended from a tightly linked coraesine chain). It's located in Solhaven 2 blocks southeast of North Market. Has six rooms and two floors, and every room has a lockable door. No node or workshop or locker. Just tons of awesomeness. Able to make unlimited "a beaker of Methais' home brew" stun drinks in the laboratory. The apparatus that the brew is made on is heavily scripted in addition to being functional for brew making. I recently had it changed to where anybody can make brew on it instead of just Methais.

Rent is 75k a month, and the rent box is in the living room. Also contains a fully functional race track in the game room, which I'll demonstrate further down. The house is listed on Tsoran's map of Solhaven, or room 1466 on Lich.

Here's a not so brief tour:

[Solhaven, Nerite and Eastbridge]
The flow of guildsmen, merchants, and shoppers is constant, moving northwest toward the North Market and south toward the East Bridge. A bronze bow hangs above the entrance of a shop on the southeast corner of the intersection, and across from it a simple two story house occupies the intersection's northeast corner.
Obvious paths: east, south, west, northwest

>l house
Potted blueberry bushes flank the home's large felwood door, and an ivory-railed balcony overlooks Eastbridge road from high on the house's western wall. Oddly, a plume of yellowish-green smoke rises from beyond the center of the peaked roof, although the only chimney visible is at the east end of the house.

>knock door
You knock upon a large felwood door.
>go door

[Methais' Home, Living Room]
A large bearskin rug covers most of the floor, with polished haon flooring showing between it and the cherrywood wainscoting. A pair of relaxing-looking overstuffed chairs and an ottoman face a big ol' comfy couch with a pillow at either end. A spiral staircase leads upstairs from the southeast corner of the room, and on the other side of the front door a wide window looks out onto the intersection of Nerite Lane and Eastbridge, lit by the glow of the streetlamps. You also see a cherrywood sideboard with some stuff on it and a rent box.
Obvious exits: none

All the food and drinks in the living room are unlimited.

>l on sideboard
On the cherrywood sideboard you see a fresh blueberry muffin, a chocolate chip cookie, a tall glass of milk, a mug of sarsaparilla beer and some lightly creamed coffee.
>
sit couch
You step over to the couch and with a satisfying sigh, settle into its soft cushions.

>lie couch
You stretch out on the couch's soft cushions.

>climb stair
You climb a spiral staircase.

[Methais' Home, Hallway]
Matching the decor of the living room, cherrywood wainscoting below ivory plaster walls gives this narrow hallway an elegant look. A polished haon door is set into the center of the hallway's south wall, while a felwood door stands opposite to the north. The hallway ends well beyond these two at a multi-paned white door, where squares of sky are visible above the door's gathered curtain. You also see a spiral staircase.
Obvious exits: none

The laboratory is through the fel door:

[Methais' Home, Laboratorium]
Multicolored, noxious vapors fill the air above an alchemetical apparatus of twisted tubing and alembics that takes up almost half of the room. To either hand, the walls are lined with cages holding a variety of animals and large insects--some common, some rare and a few that you've never even heard described before. Gazing about the chamber, one has to wonder what insane individual would need such a bizarre assortment of equipment and fauna, and for what purpose? You also see a green-eyed tabby cat that is sitting and a felwood door.
Obvious exits: none

>l appar
A colorful assortment of liquids flow through a confusing tangle of intermixed glass and copper tubing. Heated to bubbling life in round-bottomed alembics over open-flamed lamps, fogging the insides of condensation chambers and venting colored vapors from the tops of tall glass columns, the liquids seem to almost possess a life of their own. Along the front edge of the apparatus, beside a large spigot are a red, an orange, and a green button, and above them levers of black, blue and silver.

>push red button

As you press the red button, one of the larger vials begins to fill with a strange purple liquid! The liquid quickly overflows out a small side tube and ends up spraying you and sticking to your skin! A wisp of smoke and the odor of burning flesh rise into the air, and just as you're about to start screaming, the liquid evaporates, leaving behind only an odd green rash!

>push orange button
>

You lift your finger off of the orange button and your stomach knots up in dread as you hear a loud *HISSSSSSS* coming from the back of the apparatus! Before you can turn away, a small stream of green liquid shoots from the mouth of a jar shaped like the head of a krolvin warfarer and hits you square in the eyes! You can't help but regret pushing the button as everything goes black. Moments later, the hissing stops, and you find yourself completely blinded!

Fortunately, light returns within a few seconds, and moments later your vision clears.

>push green button

As you press the green button, a small panel slides away to reveal a medium-sized beaker filled with a silver liquid. Without thinking, you reach for the beaker. That was stupid! As your hand wraps around it, you feel the searing pain of the hot glass against the skin of your hand! Jumping back, you throw the beaker halfway across the room! It strikes the floor and shatters into a million pieces, the silver liquid evaporating harmlessly.

>pull black lever

You release the black lever and are left wondering if anything is going to happen at all.

Movement to your right catches your eye, and to your disbelief, there stands a tiny gnome, about two inches tall, holding a small glass. As soon as he notices he has your attention, he throws the contents of the glass on you, splashing you with a blue liquid! Giggling madly, he runs into a small tube and disappears into a black box towards the rear of the apparatus!

>pull blue lever

As you pull the blue lever, nothing seems to happen. Then out of the corner of your eye, you catch a movement above. Looking up, you see a small square of the ceiling slide away, and a small gnome climbs down a rope towards you! Just as he gets level with your nose, he pokes you in the eye, giggles madly, and the rope zips up into the hole, and the square slides back into place!

>pull silver lever

As you pull the silver lever, a bright flash of light nearly blinds you! After rubbing your eyes, you see a small gnome standing a few feet in front of you. He turns towards you and shouts, "Look out behind you, Methais! It got out of its cage!" As you spin around to see what he's talking about, you feel a thump on the back of your head and hear snickering! You turn back around and discover that the gnome is nowhere to be seen!

>turn apparatus

You step up to the apparatus and turn various knobs, valves, and spigots. Liquids begin to flow through the tubes and troughs towards a small box in front of you. A concerned, "Oops!" escapes your lips just before you're engulfed in a dense cloud of noxious smoke spewing from the nearest spigot! The smoke clears, leaving you hunched over and rubbing at your eyes as you turn away muttering, "Wrong, wrong, WRONG!" A small, frightened creature darts through one of the tubes away from you! It appears to be a bird... or rather a squirrel... or is it a lizard? Just as you decide it may have been some mix of all three, it disappears through a hole in the wall at the back of the apparatus!

>glance
You glance down at your empty hands.
>push apparatus

As you turn the knob on the spigot, a viscous liquid pours into your beaker. A small cloud of mist rises from the liquid as it slowly fills the container. It seems to be shifting colors randomly as more is added, shifting from green to blue to what seems like any number of other colors. Just when you think the mug is never going to fill, the spigot shuts itself off. Amazed your beaker is only half full, you grin as the liquid slowly expands and doubles in quantity, leaving you with a full beaker of delicious-looking liquor.

>glance
>
You glance down to see a beaker of Methais' Home Brew in your right hand and nothing in your left hand.
>drink my brew
>
You take a drink from your Methais' Home Brew. It has a richly roasted malt aroma and a nutty taste.
You have 5 quaffs left.
You feel the blood drain from your face as your eyes glaze over.
You are stunned!

Through the white door:

[Methais' Home, Balcony]
The fresh air and moonlight on the rooftops of the city and the waters of Solhaven Bay to the west create a sense of serenity out here. Twining ivy covers the wall, and climbing roses shroud the ivory railing. Pale gardenias sit in the corners in elegant polished vases, their soft fragrance lingering in the night air, and maple leaves lie scattered on the balcony floor from a recent sea breeze. A narrow set of steps descends from the north end of the balcony to a small garden on the house's north side. You also see a wooden porch swing and a multi-paned white door.
Obvious paths: none

>sit swing
You step over to the porch swing and settle down for a few minutes' rest.

This room also has a secret exit, which can be access by either CLIMB RAILING or LEAN RAILING, both with different scripts:

>climb railing
You nimbly climb over the railing and down to the street below.

[Solhaven, North Market SE]
Sooty smoke belches from a chimney precariously perched atop a stone building. An old man leans against the outer wall, slowly sharpening his blade with a coarse whetstone. An engraved imflass sign hangs from a metal bar mounted above the entrance.
Obvious paths: north, east, southeast, west, northwest

Or if you LEAN RAILING:

>lean railing
As you lean against the railing to take in the scenic view, you hear a small *CLICK*! Beneath your feet a trapdoor opens and *WHOOSH* you fall through the trapdoor, down a chute and end up on your rear end in the street below! That was fun, can we do it again?

Round Time: 5 sec.
You also see a green-eyed tabby cat.
Obvious paths: north, east, southeast, west, northwest

>stand
You stand back up.

The garden, which is GO STEPS from the balcony:

[Methais' Home, Garden]
Shrouded in the shadow of the two story house on one side and the dense foliage of the boxwood hedge on the other three, the garden is lit only by the night sky. Water gurgles from the top of the rounded mass that is the fountain at the garden's center, and ripples dimly break the jet surface of the basin's water that encircle its base. You also see a narrow set of steps that climb from the garden to the balcony, hugging the house's west wall.
Obvious paths: none

>l fountain
The fountain brings a childlike image to mind. Individual pale blue rocks combine to make up the shape of a large muffin, with the base looking as if a child went to work forming her artwork with blueberry-covered hands.

>l basin
Beards of stringy moss cover the basin's inner rim and trail down into the water, where a cloud of tiny silver shapes dart in and out of the ragged green curtain.

And through the haon door is the game room, which contains a heavily scripted fully functional race track that is activated by PULL CHAIN:

[Methais' Home, Game Room]
A large table fills nearly half the room. Sitting on the table is a detailed model of Teras Isle. The town of Kharam-Dzu, the Fhorian Village, a volcano and lava flows--complete with club-wielding pyrothags--fills the tabletop. At the far end of the table you can see a small ferry leading from the town to the Kiramon mines, and even a few miniature Kiramon poised near the mine entrance. Winding its way across the landscape is what appears to be some sort of racetrack. You also see a green-eyed tabby cat, a mithril pull chain and a polished haon door.
Obvious exits: none

>get popcorn
You just grabbed yourself a bag of delicious looking popcorn. Enjoy!

>glance
You glance down to see a beaker of Methais' Home Brew in your right hand and a bag of popcorn in your left hand.

>eat popcorn
You pluck a piece of popcorn from your bag and pop it into your mouth.
Yum! Good stuff!

>l racetrack

The model of Teras Isle and the racetrack look dull and lifeless.

There are near unlimited random variations of what will happen, depending on which racer does what at which point of the race. All the racers have their own personalities, i.e. the hobgoblin always tries to cheat, everybody hates the orc, the kobold is really stupid, etc. It's far too much to list them all. Each race takes place over the course of a few minutes.

Here are a couple sample races:

You give the mithril chain a sharp tug, and a sparkling ripple of mana erupts at the center of the model and spreads outward. As it passes, the colors of the miniature buildings and plants appear more vibrant, and the tiny figures of the island's inhabitants begin to move...

>

You release the pull chain, and a shrill whistle signals the beginning of the race! The six racers scurry out, nearly trampling each other as they make a mad dash for the small mine carts at the mouth of the Kiramon Mine, the first part of this grueling race around the track! Place your bets!

>

Climbing, jumping or diving headlong, the racers manage to board their respective mine carts and release the brakes! Away they go!

Rounding a sharp turn in the carts, the striped orc takes the curve a little too fast and his cart flips over, sending him flying from his cart! The other racers turn their heads, avoiding the gruesome scene of the racer being run over and maimed by the other carts.

>

Completing the first section of the race, the racers hop out of their carts and board the ferry! After a few moments, they arrive at the dock, and the race continues into the town of Kharam-Dzu!

Leading the race, the polka-dotted kobold takes a look over his shoulder to see if anybody's catching up to him. Not seeing anybody, he flashes a wide grin and turns back around--and runs straight into a large statue, knocking himself out cold! He never saw it coming.

>

Stopping to deliver a herioc cry, the speckled troll shouts, "Od Ir gnirght'r t'rs'rarlar 'ght'r s'rir tir f'rir 'ar'r'r s'rirght nirw'r larlurirw'r I!" and then catches his breath and continues the race.

From above the center of the table a bodiless voice states, "For those present who do not speak trollish, the fellow just said, 'I will win this race if it's the last thing I do!'"

>

Emerging from the town, the remaining racers head down the track and are soon running through the environs of the Fhorian Village!

Gaining ground during this part of the race, the blue rolton gets a little too careless rushing through the village and is grabbed by a mud wasp! The wasp carries him off of the track and into a small nest nearby, and you hear the loud buzzing sounds of the nest residents enjoying a hearty meal!

>

Leaving the village behind, the surviving racers quickly cross the intervening terrain and enter the Lava Flows!

In terrified shock, the few remaining racers watch as the speckled troll goes sailing over their heads, apparently motivated by the powerful swing of a pyrothag's club! He's been knocked clear back to Kharam-Dzu! So much for the lead!

>

Running along the track at a brisk pace, the well-rounded halfling comes to a sudden stop as she sees what appears to be a tart vendor! "Tartsh! Git yer fresh tartsh!" Unable to resist, the halfling stops to buy one, when suddenly, the vendor throws all his stuff at her and sends her crashing to the ground. The vendor takes off, yelling, "I'se smarted you out!" It was that cheating hobgoblin all along!

>

Following the course of the track, the two surviving racers climb above the Lava Flows and ascend the outer cone of the volcano!

Both of the remaining racers' eyes gleam from knowing their chances of winning are now alot higher, and they make a mad dash up the volcano! Suddenly, the muddy hobgoblin is no longer worried about winning, but rather how to escape from the red tsark who has just grabbed him and drug him off into a nearby cavern, as his opponent sprints for the finish!

>l race

That's it, the race is over!

>

The well-rounded halfling, being the only one left, lets out several squeaks of joy! She then pulls out a small blanket and works on a picnic setting. Sitting down to enjoy a post-victory snack, she mutters, "All that running sure builds an appetite!"

Another race:

>pull chain

You give the mithril chain a sharp tug, and a sparkling ripple of mana erupts at the center of the model and spreads outward. As it passes, the colors of the miniature buildings and plants appear more vibrant, and the tiny figures of the island's inhabitants begin to move...

>

You release the pull chain, and a shrill whistle signals the beginning of the race! The six racers scurry out, nearly trampling each other as they make a mad dash for the small mine carts at the mouth of the Kiramon Mine, the first part of this grueling race around the track! Place your bets!

>

Rounding a sharp turn in the carts, the well-rounded halfling takes the curve a little too fast and her cart flips over, sending her flying from her cart!

As the race continues, you hear somebody yell "Chase! Invasion! MINE!!!!!", then a nameless figure proceeds to split the striped orc's head open with a sword, dancing around the room and screaming like an idiot! One of the other racers glances at the person and mutters, "Stoopid noobey!" before continuing with the race.

>

Stopping to deliver a herioc cry, the speckled troll shouts, "Od Ir gnirght'r t'rs'rarlar 'ght'r s'rir tir f'rir 'ar'r'r s'rirght nirw'r larlurirw'r I!" and then catches his breath and continues the race. >

Emerging from the town, the remaining racers head down the track and are soon running through the environs of the Fhorian Village!

The polka-dotted kobold takes a sudden lead over the others, only to stumble upon a firethorn shoot, which quickly drags him to the ground...directly into several long thorny vines, making quick work of him! There goes *his* lead!

>

Leaving the village behind, the surviving racers quickly cross the intervening terrain and enter the Lava Flows!

Glaring in fury and jealous rage, the muddy hobgoblin tries to push one of his opponents into the lava. With his mind occupied, the less-than-genius racer completely forgets to watch where he is going, as he trips over a rock and goes tumbling into the lava himself! That'll teach him to cheat!

>

Following the course of the track, the two surviving racers climb above the Lava Flows and ascend the outer cone of the volcano!

Having reached the finish at the same time, the last two racers nod to each other. Realizing that only one can win, with a gleam in his eye the speckled troll pushes the blue rolton into the mouth of the volcano, to a lava-filled doom! Can't trust anyone these days, can you?

>

A sigh of relief comes from the speckled troll as he realizes most of the fearsome creatures on the track have been fed. He should be safe for the next race, where he can defend his championship!

If you LOOK at the racetrack immediately after starting the race before the first script activates:

You're seeing something you shouldn't. Please contact a GM. <Mode is unknown>

If you LOOK at the track after the rest of the scripts in the race:

>l racetrack
In the first few seconds of the race you catch a glimpse of a rotund, pastry-munching halfling knocked to the ground and trampled beneath the feet of the onrushing racers!

>l racetrack
You see the five surviving racers, hunched low in their mining carts, zooming through the tunnels of the Kiramon mine!

>l racetrack
The four remaining participants pass through the Plaza!

>l racetrack
You catch glimpses of the remaining three amongst the village ruins!

>l racetrack
You watch the remaining two survivors, red-lit as they run alongside streams of molten lava!

>l racetrack
That's it, the race is over!

The living room and the laboratory both have random theme scripts that usually trigger every 10 minutes or so and usually involve the gnome "butler" that pops up to keep the place tidy in both rooms, and random mad scientist/mutant creature themed scripts in the laboratory. I believe the hallway upstairs has theme scripts too, but I don't remember for sure. I'm too lazy to stand around waiting for them to happen, but if you really want to see them, the house is currently unlocked.

I'm not sure if I'm going to strip him down or not yet. I would prefer not to, mainly because I don't want to deal with it, so if you make an offer, it will be under the assumption that you're bidding on the total package and not a stripped down version.

Comes with about 10 million silvers, and items such as:

You are wearing an ithzir signet band, a thin gold ring, a chased mithril buckle, a sturdy dark leather gem pouch, a long black leather coat lined in charcoal tones, a Warrior Guild member pin, a tricorn chocolate brown hat, some slouched brown leather boots, a sturdy razern key suspended from a tightly linked coraesine chain, a simple silver chain, a metal aventail, a crystal amulet, a golden Rone Academy pin, a gold-fluted blue velvet vest, a veniom-plated Ilyan Cloud charm, a tiny invar volcano pin, a silver mayoral race button, a potion-stained tunic, a fitted viridian ritual robe, an obsidian-bound silk Adventurer's Guild badge, a red rubber nose, a pair of black gloves, a dwarven wand harness, a grass-stained foraging sack, some soft purple linen robes, some blackened imflass arm greaves, a cinder wasp iridescent blue balloon, a threadbare zombie handpuppet, a dusty brown locksmith's toolkit, some singed crimson trousers, and some leg guards.

NOTABLE ITEMS I CAN THINK OF:

an Ithzir signet band (one of the fire rings, worth about 20-30m), with the following scripts:

>rub band
As you rub the signet band, a ball of obsidian black fire builds in your right hand.
>rub band (with hands full)
A faint immage of a ball of obsidian black flame surrounds the staff for just an instant before fading away.
>roll fire
You idly roll the opalescent fire around the palm of your right hand.
>clench fire
You clench the ball of black fire in your hand and watch as the ecru flames blaze through your closed fist.
>poke fire
You bring your left hand to the fire in your right hand and poke your finger at the ecru black surface and remove it unscathed.
>tap fire
You gingerly tap the surface of the obsidian ball of flame and withdraw a small quantity of liquid black flame. It slowly dwindles away before echo disappearing.
>lick fire
You stick your tongue out and casually lick the ivory flame, causing your mouth to glow a soft black color.
>raise fire
You raise the flaming black sphere above your head for all to see!
>toss fire
You toss your ball of black fire from your right hand into the air along an arcing path before catching it again in your left hand.
(And with two fireballs...)
>toss fire
You casually juggle your obsidian black fire and your obsidian black fire from hand to hand.
And ways to get rid of the fire...
>drop fire
As your move your hand to rid it of the opalescent ball of fire, the black flame drop to the ground and impacts with a water-like spash before echo vanishing.
>eat fire
Without hesitation, you raise the ball of black fire to your mouth and swallow, knowing full well that you can sever the flow of power at any time. As echo your jaw surrounds the black fire, you release your control echo and it winks out before burning you.
>dismiss fire
With a flick of your hand, you dismiss the flaming black ball.
>breathe fire
You blow a slow steady breath at the black fire in your hand and watch as the opalescent flames flutter out of existence before your eyes.
In addition, the fireballs spout off random scripts too. And, as you'll notice... the shade of the color is constantly shifting as you hold the fire.
Also, you can hand the fireballs off to other people and they can manipulate them in the same fashion. It's charged with any fire spell... so the echo charges are esentially
unlimited.

Auto scripts every minute or so:

The ball of flame in your hand draws some energy from you.
>
Your spherical ball of obsidian flame licks at the air.

Stretching out into a tear shape, your murky black fire wavers slightly.

A gentle breeze moves the black flame in your hand.
>
The ashen ball of fire in your hand momentarily takes on a columnar form.

Also comes with:

4x heavily crit padded robes

a dwarven wand harness (very old, but otherwise just a regular container)

A pin worn "a potion stained tunic" and a pin worn "a dark viridian ritual robe", both hold VLA. No idea what, if anything, would happen to their functionality if they were removed. Pretty sure they're fine though, I've been arrested a couple times in the past year or since whenever that pin worn change took place and they were fine.

>l tunic
This cotton tunic is designed to be sturdy yet stylish. Stains of colorful potions splatter the front, while small burn-marks mar the sleeves. Deep pockets protect valuable contents from minor explosions.

>l robe
This long sleeveless robe is crafted from a viridian silk and a row of circular bronze buttons travels up the front. The floor brushing bottom has been severely scorched on one side and the garment's dye has faded in spots, becoming a soft greenish-grey. Several dark stains are visible upon the left side of the robe, perhaps hastily wiped there during a ritual. Along the hemline is a pattern of interlocking serpents, intricately embroidered in bronze thread.

A golden triple delta band (the Zelda ring):

The thick gold of this band supports a striking geometric setting. One large triangle is composed of three smaller delta symbols joined to each other at the tips, leaving a fourth perfect triangle in the negative space. Inscribed on the triangles, one to each, are the words "Courage," "Wisdom" and "Power." On the inside of the band, a flowing engraving reads "Triforce."

NUDGE: You place one hand against your hip, nudging your black leather coat back over one shoulder.
TURN: You turn quickly, your black leather coat swirling in your wake.
STAND COAT: You push back your black leather coat and immediately shift into a relaxed stance.
TOSS: With a flourish, you toss your black leather coat over your shoulder, tilting your chin upward in a show of confidence.
WAVE: You narrow your eyes, then suddenly step aggressively forward, letting your black leather coat billow behind you.
WAVE MY COAT AT (target): You narrow your eyes, then suddenly step aggressively toward (TARGET), your black leather coat billowing out behind you.
BOW: Pulling up the edges of your black leather coat, you execute a stately bow.
SPIN: You whirl around, your black leather coat flaring out in a circle around you.
Held:
RUB: You rub the fabric of your black leather coat, smoothing out the wrinkles and brushing away any imperfections.
TURN: You turn your black leather coat over in your hands, rolling and unrolling the fabric.
STAND: You stare at nothing in particular and fidget with the fabric of your black leather coat.
TOSS: You hum a little tune as you toss the bottom portion of your black leather coat over your shoulder.
WAVE: You grip your black leather coat and wave in a call for attention.
WAVE (target): You grip your black leather coat and wave it at Turpan, trying to get his attention.
BOW: You hold your black leather coat out in front of you as you dip into a quick bow.
SPIN: You whirl your black leather coat around over your head like a bullfighter.

Has a bunch of stuff in my locker too, but I'm not on Teras where my locker is, but there isn't really anything high end or of high value in there that I can think of, except maybe some armor I'm in the process of enchanting for Neimanz, which will be returned to him before the sale takes place. I'll check when I'm back on Teras and add it in later if anything notable is in there.

If there's anything in general I forgot, I'll add it in later. If you have any questions, PM me.

I'm only accepting ridiculous offers, and offers to buy everything he comes with will take priority over offers on a stripped down version, assuming I'll do a stripped down sale at all, which chances are I won't, mainly because I'm lazy.

I have to agree with those who are advising caution and have a little experience with this. I sold out in 1998 for 10 grand and have regretted it every day since. The money was great but I miss the character terribly, and even worse, my good name was ruined (and I mean stomped into a mud hole banished). In the short run it was worth it, but 15 years later, I would smack my younger self for doing so. I have left this game so many times (always to play other games, Ultima Online, Everquest, City of Heroes, WoW) and always come back, there is just no game like this one. Sigh, another post from the Candor wanna-be trying to convince folks he is me.

I am perfectly capable of being a complete asshole (and admitting it) without hiding behind another name. Whoever is behind the Klepta postings, learn the meaning of the word "humor".

For the record, I don't like whoever has been running Methais nor the character himself. But he is, admittedly, an incredibly powerful character. The racetrack in his home is awesome. Good luck to whoever buys him, and be sure to leave your containers open so Candor can steal something really nice.

No it was 1998, there was no such thing as a level 100 character back then. I was one of the top 3 wizards (3 of us between 76-80), had my own workshop (there were only 6 private shops then, it is now befouled by Ardwen, may the fleas of a 1000 camels occupy his jockey shorts), and had a nice array of goodies, but nothing I would call spectacular. I was incredibly rich at the time, which is to say I had about 30 million in the bank.

The story get even weirder, the person who bought it was a 16 year old kid, and he was perma-banned 6 months later. I have control of the account and character once again, but they will not unlock it and won't even let me use the name.

It may sound a little silly, but knowing my name was so ruined (I was considered a pretty good egg before then, first wizard with apprentices, no enemies, 0 warnings in 7 years of play) really bugs the hell out of me.

Maybe my memory is a little fuzzy but I thought around 1998 was when people were power leveling like crazy and were were reaching levels like 150 and shit? You only needed 50k exp per level back then and if someone played 12+ hours a day (or if multiple people were sharing a character that could level 24 hours a day) they could easily get 10-20k exp a day so people were getting 1-2 levels a week.

Or did all of that start a couple of years after 1998?

It had begun when I was leaving, I remember Simmer doing some pretty stupid things to gain levels but it was still the old-timers who dominated when I left. Power hunting had little to do with it, there were no 100 or 90 creatures back then. They looked for game rules to warp (script imbedding for instance) to get exp. I might be off on the year a bit, I am getting old. But I do know the 3 top wizards were Kodos, Dartaghan and myself. and none of us were over 80.

Just gave an old buddy a call, he says it was 1996, just after AOL went to flat pricing. Harcourt has done less drugs than I have over the years, he is likely right.

Then...5 years to get to level 80, 30 million was among top 10 bank accounts, monthly cost was around 800.00 per month (I had to pay hourly datapac charges as well as Genie account hourly charges)

Now...8 months to get to level 77, 15 million in the bank and I am a pauper, monthly cost 40.00 when I have premium

It's been a weird 21 or so years.

I'm good with generalities but sometime those details...The largest segment of my value was in the workshop. I remember the first big sale was when Tedra skipped ahead of me in the line by buying Whilder's shop for 3500.00 and that was well before me when the population was lower.

I'm good with silly little things though...sometimes the haze parts and I remember...

Yeah, you sold out to a complete tool, who was caught up in the ranger rod imbedding ring that made many millions before they got shut down. This back when a million silvers was worth a lot of money. She was also one of the people who lost one of the four sets of krodera full plate found during the discovery of the Sheruvian Monastery. I did sell out once before to Khariz and was able to get him back later on, fortunately.

I also forgot to mention, even though its overall meaningless, that Methais was also the first character to reach the 160 soft cap after it was implemented, if you don't include those who were already post cap at the time (Drizzsdt, Angellisa, etc.).

As for the house, I was told by someone on staff in the past that it's account bound. I plan to keep the sale quiet if/when it happens. But like so many things with Simu, a lot depends on who you ask, and if you're generally liked or dislike by staff, so I don't think there is a definitive 100% answer to the question in either direction. Personally, I think Simu would be doing themselves a great disservice if they were to pull it, because it really shows off the quality and creativity of some of their staff. This house was designed by me and built by GM Mikos, who is long gone, but one of the best coders they ever had I think. I always kept the house unlocked so people could come and go at will, since I'm not in Solhaven much anyway, and felt it would be a huge waste to keep it locked up.

I think there was something else I forgot to add, but ill post it later if I remember.

If anyone wants to make offers on individual items, feel free to PM me. Cash offers preferred but ill consider coins at $8 per.

Yes but... there was also no XXX, no bounty system. People advance far quicker today than they did then, even with the higher per level requirement.

1998.... I don't remember if the rift was open yet (it would have been opening soon), lower eye on teras would have been the oldest area. Back around then there were a couple people over level 100, empaths of course, and the picking rogues, but not many, no one at 200 yet. Getting that high took longer. Jadall or Simmer was probably the oldest that year.

So if he sold the account, the house would stay with the character and the account. I don't think it matters if the account changes ownership, no?

They do stay with the account and the character, but... When Kaikala was going over rules with me when I won my house, she definitely said that the house would be forfeit if the account was transferred to a new owner. Not if the character was transferred to a new account (which it also would be), but if the account was transferred to a new owner. I am not saying that would be true in this case, since I don't know what anyone else was told, I just know what I was told on my property.

Kaikala never told me the property would be forfeited if my account was transferred to a New owner. Enough folks have said that she said it to them, however and I am inclined to agree.

When they changed the rules after the airship debacle, they were quite clear when they explained the details of ownership, the only way deeds would be transferable would be if they were new and won as prizes, in all other circumstances deeds were owned by the account owner, and were not transferable.

I never bothered to FIXSTAT after, and if I remember correctly I went with high INF during the GS4 conversion for the extra mental TPs. I really don't remember though, I just remember saying fuck CO and tanking it.

I did? I wouldn't doubt it, but I have no recollection of any of that. I still run into people that say they're related to Meth one way or another. I think more people have adopted Meth as their grandpa or some shit than anything else. I'm usually like, "Uhh...WAT?"

For a while a long time ago I was going to turn my fame off, strip down to starter gear, hunt rats with some shitty AS in defensive stance, and start a rumor that I rerolled until some random old enemy that couldn't touch me before came up and tried to attack me, only to get severely raped in his goatsehole.

I think the biggest problem with this scenario was that I was too lazy to actually do it.

Took the time to read this thread. References to goatseholes withstanding, it's very funny. Kudos for keeping your home publically accessible. May take a wander In that direction one spring day. My single biggest regret is that I didn't hang onto my deed for a DM won property in elf-town. Who knew travelling from one part of the land to another would soon become so easy! Seriously though, if I win a deed for a property again, will keep it, even if its in the heart of Ta'illistim. And will leave it publically accessible. I like that idea.

Without going into specific details, I basically got paid to not sell out. If they wanna step forward on it that's up to them, but I'm not going to out them or drop names.

I was totally floored by that turn of events to be honest, and am still pretty much speechless over it. Pretty sure there's a Soviet Russia joke somewhere in that too.

Off-topic, but I think I read he's staying. Drizzsdt (picking) and Jadall (Healing) went as high as 190ish and 210 I think before GSIV hit.

Here is some soft cap info:

Malok, Megaladon, Drizzsdt, Tsalin, Tenderhand, Sraven, Methais, Sihaya, Skyfawn, Jadall, Angellisa, Primum, Suvar, Kadesha, Talone, Malokii, Lourraine, Keffal, and Yactaevia.

This was December 2002.

Can't possibly be the same person giving you that rep because of the short time in between reps. Also, considering what a raging douchebag he is here on the PC, I cannot imagine losing him would be any great loss to GS.

At what point did I say it was the same person?

But lets talk about your issues for a moment. At one point do you feel like this makes anyones life better? Or are you saying that sending negativity across the world is something that makes you less of a "raging douchebag"?

I actually found these posts amusing and only commented that doesn't hide behind an anonymous layer. So, to make it easy for you, at least when he's being a douche, he owns up to it. Unlike you and the "others" who need this rep system to make yourself feel better about your own insecurities.

I still say to you, have a wonderful Sunday!

He certainly sounds like the richest of all time.

Well Tedra was rich in real life so that sort of eased the way for her. I meant Methais soundeds like he might be richest. My opinion on who is the greatest would tilt more toward what he was in the game (within my experience), it's close to a toss up between Dart and Kodos but I knew Kodos better so he made the cut. I am completely an old school snob so just to make the basic list you had to be ice age.

As much as I'd like to let people believe that, I'm sure I'm not even remotely close to it. I've broken 100m in my bank account before and have owned several high end items like a cross realm teleport staff, my old lint bag (the only item I truly regret selling), etc., and then ended up liquidating most of it over time.

Most of the time though my bank account was never really anything impressive, partially because I tended to let silvers burn a hole in my pocket and would always end up buying something. And also because my main source of insane income was nerfed into oblivion several years ago (charge item and mana leech nerfs, as I used to rape Shadow Valley with mana leech to charge ruby amulets and blue crystals in bulk), never gave a shit about enchanting, and was usually too lazy to merchant outside of my charge item scheme.

These days I pretty much just hunt Nelemar or troll warcamps (after hunting a troll camp with immolate spec, the orc and giant warcamps are depressing) and go afk in between hunts, and occasionally hit up OTF or the Rift, and loot usually isn't anything special. Fortunately I never cared about high end combat items anyway. The 4x hcp robes I have now I found in a box, and up until then I was sporting 5x fulls and a 5x runestaff.

As for the house, despite the fact that it can't be sold, is one of the few truly priceless items in the game in my opinion, and as for what sort of monetary value it would be worth if it were sellable, I have no idea. I've been offered 300m for it before, which is pretty much the only input I've been given on its actual worth. But I always leave it unlocked, so it's for all intents and purposes a public property anyway.

So my soft cap post was from December 2002. Here is the actual implementation post of the soft cap itself.

5/21/2001 Soft level cap implementation

On May 31st, the day of the release of the first Elven Nations expansion and the Artisan's Guild, we will be implementing a soft level cap in GemStone III.

A level cap is a limit on the amount of experience that a player may earn. We term this cap "soft" as the cap will be increased as GemStone III becomes further developed. The cap will be set at the level at which a player can legitimately earn experience via the killing of creatures in combat (ten levels above the highest existing creature which is regularly available within the game.)

Currently, our schedule for the soft level cap includes the implementation of a cap at level 143 on May 31st. Three months later, on August 31st, the cap will be increased to level 160 with the addition of new creatures in the second Elven Nations expansion. At the current time, we have no further plans.

Players who reach the level cap after it is set will be unable to gain any experience beyond that level. Players who are above the level cap will be unable to gain any experience after the cap is set ... until the cap is raised above their current level.

The new soft level cap will only affect a very small number of you, however, we do understand that this will be of great concern to everyone. We know that it has taken a great deal of investment (in both time and money) in order to achieve these high levels. We are sorry for any inconvenience that may be caused by this regrettable necessity.

9/27/2001 Age Cap Raised
On Saturday, September 29th, the cap on experience gain will be raised to level 160. This change will go into effect due to the release of new high level creatures on the Eastern half of Elanith.

Previously it had been announced that the cap would be raised on the 28th, however, plans to release the high level creatures were changed to Saturday.

I do not know what on earth possessed me to go back and look at GS again, but I did a couple days ago and started trolling these boards for no apparent reason when I saw this post. I also do not know why it makes me happy, but I'm glad you kept Methais around. Hunting Shan with you and the ranger-lady-friend you had back in, what...97? 98?...those were fun times. And then when I came back briefly in like 2003 or whatever and you borrowed my account to play Mettler incognito. Logging in to find myself sitting in Pinefar with a bag totally full of Glacei orbs or whatever they were was funny.

Anyway, not sure if I am actually going to play again...completely forgot all my account info anyway...but knowing that you are still "around" warms me to the notion. Hope all is well. I hardly ever go on AIM anymore but next time I do I'll look you up, or you can message me if you still remember the SN.

Hell yeah I remember you. Lots of good times and pwnage back in the day. Chasmine (then rolled up a rogue named Morgynn) was the ranger you're thinking of.

If you remember your security question you should be able to get your account straight. I'd give billing a call they're pretty good about most things and would likely help you get your account stuff squared away one way or another.
