As it turns out, I have more than one extra copy. Also, you do have to have Steam.

Someone sent me a copy of this, I thought it was still in beta and I only was receiving access to the beta? If you get a copy of this sent to you via Steam, do you have the game? I'm confused. I guess I could actually click it and see what it is, but whatever, I suck at MOBAs.

I was joking because everyone I know who plays Dota 2 has tons of keys to give out. It being "beta" and "invite only" is a marketing strategy more than anything.
