Flaring plate

Ok so since all a warrior really does it get plinked too death for 5-10 points of damage at a time, even in non padded plate, im wondering why flaring plate isn't more valued. Unless you are running like MCP plate or above, HCP vs non padded plate is minimal vs the benefit of flares for those little hits you mostly take. Just trying to decide if I should buy a flaring set of plate or save up for the more expensive crit padding. I'm only 31 and have SWCP mbp that is working out fine, but I would love to have flares. Another thing is the randomness of crit padding. Anything over SW is randomized anyway, just another thing the flares have on crit padding. Thanks

Flared armor was ok in OTF where one stunned creature is two out of the fight (dragging), I wouldn't want to use it in nelemar though where you have to chance awlpike swings.
