For that shit you can't find on Krakii, too lazy to Google, and Lnet is being full of trolls.

I'll get us started:

Is there some inventory cap on functional pin worns? I thought I read somewhere that you can only wear 7 enhancives in pin slots or something like that?

Yup, 7 pins, but I think you can get around that with a pin sashes, if I remember correctly.

Here is one, since virtually no one seems to know or be willing to share this information.

Recently, exploring the Landing has led me to understand that there are an unusually high amount of random or dangerous environmental effects and traps that kill capped level characters just as easily as lower level characters. I "learned" this while waltzing through Stone Valley with a nearly capped character and "OOPS!" fell off a cliff and nearly died. I've seen evidence of more, and lets just say, I hate dying, and I'd like to know where these deaths can occur and if there is anything I can do to avoid them. So in other words: non-enemy related traps or effects that can be lethal.

Locations in question include:
- Darkstone Castle (someone said the iron maiden can kill you?)
- Stone Valley and Stronghold (Screw that cliff . . . can this be avoided)
- Broken Lands (someone said you can randomly get meteored?)

I listed one example for each, but I'm sure there are more. I'd LIKE to make a "safe" exploration of these places one day, so any information would be valuable.

Pin slots aren't limited to whether they're enhancive or not.

Pin sashes don't work with enhancives, as they predate the enhancive system. Anything worn in the sash is not considered 'worn', so enhancives aren't activated.

The pile at the entrance to the rift can't outright kill you, but it will remove limbs and you can bleed out. Also, the spirial in Zul Logoth has one room that juts out. Don't go in that room, it can cut your head (and more) off. There are a few things in the broken lands that won't necessarily kill you, but will pretty much guarantee that you will die on the way out. The winds around ice mule can kill you if you stand out in them too long. I'm sure there are more, but I can't think of them right now.

Pile at the entrance to the rift? Hmm, don't know anything about that, but I will keep an eye out.

Where is the spiral in Zul? And here I thought that was one town I was really safe in.

I get weather effects, they don't both me because I know I can avoid them if I must. Its things like that cliff where entirely out of the blue, I was falling to my death, and had no way to mitigate or avoid it at all. That sucked.

Innnnteresting. I hunted that hunting ground for 11 levels and never encountered the danger. Not complaining! Good to know, however.

They might have changed it because it used to cause wounds which would give empaths EXP and a certain person who was banned from this forum was farming exp out there.

Do enchant on bracers/greaves matter for anything

Short answer: No.

Long answer: It's occasionally used to keep lower levels from getting the enhancive/flare/ability advantage.

No. What type of material may in some circumstances, but not enchant.

For instance, leather greaves/bracers can have ranger resistance added. Black ora may be cursed, etc.

The pile I think he meant is at the entrance to the Stone Valley area, not the Rift. I've fallen off that cliff in stone trolls/giants several times though. I know you can get pushed off if someone so much as sneezes at you, so don't let anyone touch you while you're there either. As far as the wind occasionally whipping you off, I have no idea if there's a way to avoid it. Agi/dex roll? Dodging maybe?

Don't forget the tree in Vipershroud where apparently you can suffocate if you don't find the way out fast enough, but I've never died in it.

When you explore places, isn't part of the fun the somewhat dangerous aspect of it? Pfft. :P

The tree on the way to the EN. Tread lightly in the Keen. I'm really not sure if you want to know even the most basic dangers or what. Like the spike trap in Nightmares sucks. I have seen all levels up to cap get stuck in there, die and have a hard time getting rescued because you can't fog out.

The alley in Solhaven will get you mugged and/or buttkickery ensues. The tavern in Icemule used to do the same but I think you can only get attacked by other PCs now.

ETA: Don't touch black spheres in guilds unless you want a giggle.

Thats some good info.

See, I like exploring places for the flavor text and lore . . . not for the random and unexpected auto-deaths, like in Stone Valley randomly falling off a cliff with no warning . . .

No, I don't know about the spike trap in Nightmares . . . so thats one saved.
