Official Boards question.

I don't frequent the Official boards much, so when I went looking today, I noticed (other than the new crappy format) that you can't edit a post. I seem to recall being able to do that. Anyone know when and why they've removed that feature?

I don't ever recall being able to edit a post. Then again, I've only been alive for 19 years.

I don't ever remember being able to edit posts there, been frequenting it for the last 3 years or so.

You can delete and repost however.

As much as I *don't* want to say this (for obvious reasons) I could be wrong as my memory does slip from time to time.

Nope, no edit button. Only deleting.

Of course editing would make sense so that when you have one offensive word the mods could take that out rather than removing the entire post, even if it means that you had an actual, valid point to the post. But I digress.

Truth be told, I like that people can't keep backtracking again and again. If its a typo, learn to live with it or check it better before posting. If you want to change content then start from scratch.

And they actually let you ignore posters there.

Unfortunately, they have overzealous moderators who pull posts for things like damn and wtf, and cater to idiots who think commenting negatively on a town is harrassment.
