Is there a way to switch a sonic base without stopping and recasting the song to save on mana and/or casting RT, for example switching from a sonic short sword to a sonic runestaff? I thought I read this somewhere, but can’t seem to find it now.


Does Song of Unravelling get better with more than 24 ranks of Mental Mana Control? I see a lot of recommendations for 24 ranks, but not for more.


For familiar instruments can you renew the spell by loresinging to the item again or do you have to wait until the familiar spell expires?

1) Not that I know of.
2) 24 ranks is the first rank over 100 bonus, and that's why it's highly recommended. Although nowadays people recommend that extra rank to 25 for multi-cast opportunities... although, not that significant for bard.
3) Not sure... thought there were only a handful of familiar instruments... no idea how they work. Or are they commonplace at somewhere I'm unaware of?

Yes. Just prep the song while you're still singing and Cast the new weapon. Costs less mana and also works for armor.

No, you can't renew the spell, you have to wait for it to expire.
