I had heard that you would take advantage of crashes... but how would you predict them?

Actually it had to do with a Character Manager bug, I'd hand a backpack of items to another person then go start my character over, but before picking a name I'd quit the game. Then I'd log back in and be back where I was 5 mins before going to the inn with the backpack of items and the character I handed it to also had one.
The only reason I got caught was I told too many people about it and someone ratted me out. They fixed the bug now though.
