Former President Bill Clinton (http://www.politico.com/tag/billclinton)is getting props for being a good dad.
Clinton was named the “Father of the Year” by the National Father’s Day Council on Wednesday.
The group selected Clinton for his “profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations,” Dan Orwig, chairman of the National Father’s Day Committee, said (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/09/ny-national-fathers-day-idUSnBw7Ybz0Ba+122+BSW20130109) in the announcement.
The award will be presented at a luncheon in June.

Can't believe he didn't win Husband of the Year too!

Too fucking funny.

Actually, it would be more realistic if they had awarded it to Hillary.

The group selected Clinton for his “profound generosity, leadership and tireless dedication to both his public office and many philanthropic organizations,”
... because things that have absolutely nothing to do with his being a father are excellent reasons to nominate him for Father of the Year.

Okay granted I just skimmed the official announcement (http://www.reuters.com/article/2013/01/09/ny-national-fathers-day-idUSnBw7Ybz0Ba+122+BSW20130109) but unless I'm mistaken the only mention of his daughter is this part:

President Clinton was born on August 19, 1946, in Hope, Arkansas. He and his wife Secretary Hillary Rodham Clinton have one daughter, Chelsea, and live in Chappaqua, New York.

And the whole thing is 12 paragraphs long. Liagala hit the head on the nail. Again.

Like I said, it would be more believable if Hillary won.

Although to be fair does "father of the year" necessarily have anything to do with him being a good father? Or is it simply awarded to people who do good things who also happen to be fathers?

Hmm.....

Hmm.....

Does the Nobel Peace Prize have anything to do with peace?
