Someone had mentioned to me that I'll need a few ranks in MIU and AS at some point. I'm a little confused as to what types of items I'd be using these skills for. I read a little on Krakiipedia about MIU and AS but I'm curious as to what types of items these would include and what skill level would be required to activate/use them?

Spellburst in some hunting grounds at 60ish+... They're avoidable as hunting grounds though.

Spellburst causes enhancive spells that you're wearing to explode. The maximum amount of mana you can hold is a function of your training in magical skills. So like, 101, 103, 107: That's 11 mana worth of spells. There's an equation on Krakii on how to calculate the necessary ranks of AS/MIU necessary to hold these spells based on your level.

These hunting areas are fairly avoidable for a warrior though, and mainly exist around Ta'Illistim to the best of my knowledge.

Other than that... being able to buff yourself with scrolls and stuff is also just a good skill to have.

MIU and AS will allow you to essentially spell yourself up. As a warrior you're going to be taking a lot of hits. MIU will allow you to use imbedded items (Items with a finite amount of charges inside them). AS will allow you to invoke scrolls (Also with a finite charge on them). This will come in most handy in two situations: 1) You can't find anyone to spell you up. 2) You use spells that are self-cast.

I've included a couple of spells that warriors will find useful that can be found from MIU. Anyone with access to the 400 (minor elemental) spell circle can make imbedded items for you with any spell they can cast below level 20 (I believe).

Below that I've linked the Arcane symbols Krakii page so you can see how much skill you would need to cast the spells. You can find almost every spell under level 20 on scrolls pretty easily if you look hard enough, so I didn't include examples there.

Thanks! Do you buy empty scroll parchments and give them to a sorc to infuse spells? Not quite sure how that system works.

Nah, scrolls are found through the treasure system, and sorcerer's infusion is basically a recharging mechanism. Don't really need sorcerers unless you have some very fancy scrolls. Even then, sorcerers willing to recharge scrolls are rare, and usually they're snooty dark elves...

they might *technically* be avoidable, but both nelemar and OTF have spellburst. those are two great areas for warriors to hunt while coming up, and IMO the easier of the capped hunting areas
